Nerve pain

Are there any people out there that treat nerve pain naturally? I have not researched. I just had severe nerve pain on the outside of my ear, amd my toes have been bad too. I took a turmeric and it stopped. Dont know if that was just luck, or it actually helped. Just curious if anyone has some suggestions. Thanks!

Hi Natura

I do not use herbal remedies myself, I would love too but I have a lot of allergies and would need testing prior to starting any. I do use a TENS Machine on my compressed sciatic nerve, and (I also have a smaller specialist machine) on my head / neck for migraines. I find a TENS quite effective most of the time, and never had any burn or irritation issues as some users have complained about.

A couple of years ago I bought several copper bangles and shoe pieces as these are supposed to help alleviate arthritic pain but I have not had any relief whilst using them. One thing that I have found useful are my fabric elbow and wrist supports, as when the pain is really bad I have noticed that using these does help me.

I want to genuinely and sincerely wish you all the best of luck.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Natura,

Homeopathy is not my thing but I know of an elderly gentleman who had success with 4X belladonna with his Trigeminal Neuralgia.

My gut feeling always was that his pain could have been attended by any competent dentist but he had extreme mental aversion to such measures.

I have included Herbal Treatments and Tissue Salts as well that have been used.

Hope this is of help

Face Pain (Trigeminal Neuralgia) Remedies

Severe pains that are burning or shooting that comes from facial nerves that come out near the lips, gums, or cheeks.

It involves the face, scalp, teeth, nose, ears and other areas.

There are six specific spots where the facial nerves come out of the skull. There are pain points. Two of those points are in the eyebrows, two others are on either side of the nose, just above the wings. The other two are in the middle of the chin, next to on another. The pain is generally worse form cold or feels cold.

Symptoms of trigeminal neuralgia include: various pains that are burning, sharp, stabbing, dull, or aching. It can be jaw tenderness and in some cases pain in the mouth of the lips, gums, teeth or cheeks. Symptoms can be worse from chewing, heat, cold, exposure to cold winds. Always get medical advise to rule out other problems.

Causes are generally unknown. Modern medicine uses drugs that treat the nerves, inflammation and muscles. With moderate results and many side effects, they often turn to cutting or severing the nerves that cause the pain. Surgery may soothe pains but cause numbness, other problems, or even more pain.

Natural medicine looks at trigeminal neuralgia as a problems with nerves as a result of mineral deficiencies, stress or unknown physical causes. The goal is to calm the nerves, relieve stress that will lead to pain relief.

Nutrition is important to remove nutritional stressors such as tobacco, alcohol, coffee, black tea and sodas as a start.

Nerve health can be increased nutritionally by using food-based B-Complex vitamins from New Chapter, Megafood or Garden of Life.

Also use Magnesium, increasing the dosage just up to diarrhea, to feed the nerves

Natura,, it is sad the way medicine that has been used safely for 1000s of years has been under attack in the last number of years. It's "safety" is now all of a sudden under question, and the whole agenda is promoted by lobbyists.

The deeper one looks at big pharma the more shocking the picture.

This is a great read very enlightening and Free in PDF,,, the guy that wrote it considered his work to important not to provide it free of charge,, it was his legacy,,, I'm sure you will enjoy it,,, as may your sister and brother.

I hear myself talking in you and in the end I had to take the tablets by which time I was glad of them . I really hope you don't have to but I was in such pain that I would crawl about on the floor with the pain . Wishing you all the best in your search just beware that there is no cure . I saw this advert online from this woman who said she had the cure , so I get in touch with her and I say if indeed you had the cure why are you charging for it , you have had this dreadful disease why can't you give it freely as many of us have to give up work and money is tight . I said to her do the decent kind thing . Never heard back from her funny that . All the best M

Matrix...i am so sorry for your pain. I am not that bad yet. The pain comes and goes. I am having a terrible time with my right ear and tmj. I refuse to give up. (Drinking beet juice now, always loved as a child. My body knew what it needed back then..which proves it is all in the genes..not environmental entirely, maybe a little, not diet either.) i have always been a fighter..taurus...bull headed.

I totally get what you wrote last too. I agree. If you have a cure, share it. Should have told her it would bring her good karma. Ha! World has gotten so greedy.

Good luck!

Hi , well I'm glad you feel it's as bad as mine , I think you are probably suffering just as bad . I get Trigeminal neuralgia now that is the pain from hell , it stops you dead and the meds make you very groggy but it hurts so bad you have to take . What would you do if you found a cure ? I know I would make it available free for all of us . You keep trying to find a cure , I know my dad had it and I'm sure one of my children may have early symptoms . I don't say anything but I'm praying they won't get it . Take care sweetie . M

How did you take tumeric? I have such bad nerve pain in n my feet that Gabapentin eases but doesn't remove, I'll try anything 🙌

Natura profile image
Natura in reply to avnot

Avnot....not sure if it was the turmeric, but i take it in a capsule from vitamin shop. I have taken passionflower many a times for anxiety. Interesting that is suppose to help according to herbalists. I take rescue pastilles for anxiety too. I was experimenting with anti anxiety stuff because i found out my brother in law was using anxiety medication for pain relief from herniated and missing discs. Interesting connection. Wonder if that is where our pain stems from. Part of brain that creates anxiety, not sure if that is the fight or flight region. Which i have excessive stimulation of. Hypothalamus? Researchers should be studying that part of the brain...

Hello: My doctor suggested to me to take 200MG of alpha lipoic acid 3 times daily for my peripheral neuropathy. I have diabetes along with fibro and etc. I no longer have the burning pains and the prickles between my toes.

Its a supplement, "dietary supplement".Its also taken as an antioxidant support. AKA ALA. If I stay faithful, I no longer have feet problems.
