It's a vicious circle isn't it as the less sleep we get the less respite from pain we get and if you are going through a prolonged flare you just wonder when or if it is going to end. Be rest assured it will eventually but it is hard to remain positive when you feel at rock bottom. I actually have found the length of time my flares last seems to have shortened as over the years I have become more adept at dealing with them.
I am kinder to myself and go more with the flow. I try to do gentle stretching exercises just to stop the muscles cramping up with pain. I do everything I can to distract myself. If you have a bath try putting several handfuls of Epsom salts in it as it can be very soothing and your body does take in some of the magnesium. Have you got a TENS machine that you could use on the most painful area as if you can dampen the pain down in the worse area I often helps the body overall.
I hope your MRI answers some of the questions. Do let us know how you get on. Hope things ease up for you soon.x
Hi rosewine there are pure magnesium crystals that you can buy to add to the bath. Not sure how expensive they are (one of my clients used them). She swears by them
