Life is precious

Hi all

Not been on for weeks. Shortly after joining my son was in a serious car crash and was critically injured. Both legs, hip, jaw, arm smashed and bruised lung. He is recovering slowly and I can only thank God and all the amazing doctors and staff at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Glasgow. He's a real fighter but he had us terrified. In all he spent almost 14 hours in theatre on 2 separate days. It seems odd but I couldn't cry. I was completely numb and like a robot. Only when he came off the ventilator and the hospital had wakened him up and moved him to HDU, when I was ironing his clothes one day I just went to pieces and couldn't stop. He's got a long way to go. He is so loved. I still can't believe how close it came x

Oh my goodness. You have been going through it. I am so sorry for your son's accident, as a mother I can only imagine what you have been and are going through. I am pleased he is improving, albeit slowly. It's amazing how the body can heal itself. I truly hope his health continues to improve on a daily basis. My thoughts are with you both.
