Hemp oil

Hello good folks. I seen my gp yesterday and discussed the hemp oil. She said she knew nothing about it and it's still illegal is Ireland. She kindly phoned the pharmacist who said no it's not available and health food supplements hemp oil would not have any effect. She said it would only be a placebo effect if It not medical marijuana and that when licensed will only be for ms patients. But would have no adverse reaction with my current med regime.

No here's the strange thing I have taken the hemp oil I bought from only licensed company in Ireland (so gp was wrong the law has been changed last yr but they have not sanctioned use yet for medical marijuana, but allowed this company to produce the oil) and well...I'm sleeping like a baby last 3nights. The pharmacist said he will get some research for me and well I can then give it to the gp.

Sorry it a long post again ๐Ÿ˜‚

Remain blessed and as well as possible and happy Burns night! Soft hugs all xx

Hi Olivia1

I don't think the medical profession has caught up with the latest changes to Hemp Oil, indeed I thought it was still under trial and hadn't realised it is now available in England.

You sound as though you have a good pharmacist who is willing to help you.

I am glad you have had several good night's sleep with this, long may it continue!

X

Oh Gavin is lovely and is from NI like me and he is fully aware of uk and Irish changes.

My only complaint with it is that the small bottle is 38โ‚ฌ and it only last the week taking 15 drops at night only and not the recommended 15drops 3-4 times a day. I have seen it for ยฃ23 on a chemist website in NI but they don't post it to you.

Will let you all know if anything else comes of it. Remain blessed and soft hugs to ye all xx

I asked my GP recently about it and he said (quote) "No idea...you probably know more about it than me") not a helpful reply! x

Hi All,

I think one needs to make a clear distinction between Hemp Seed Oil and Cannabis Oil. Hemp Seed Oil is a balanced normal oil with the right proportions of Omega 3, 9 and 6 but has not THC or CBD in it. It is very healthy to take to balance the required oil for the body, as we all take too much Omega 6 and too little Omega 3 oils.

Whereas cannabis oil has either THC or CBD in it. CBD is good for prevention of cancer and many other sicknesses including fibro. THC oil makes you high, but can also help with strong pain. One would only need 1 or 2 drops initially to ease the pain. One can also get a CBN oil which is particularly good for sleeping and works like a bomb. Altogether it is a delicate balance of all three for fibro. Sorry but I had to clear this up.

Hi the oil I have been trying has CBD. This is all new to me so is this the correct one?

Naturegirl profile image
Naturegirlโ€ข in reply toOlivia1

Hi Olivia,

My point was that we should not call it Hemp Oil (I am open to correction) . The hemp plant is used for many things like making string, clothing, bags, industrial uses as well as oil out of the seeds. etc.

If your oil has CBD in all is good and you will sleep well. You can take it during the day as well (I take 5 drops three times a day) - it has no THC in and will not make you high.

Hi, Irish hemp and CBD oil 300mg CBD, 100% natural cannabinoids. Hempture.ie

I'm not expert but I have to explore this further. Not even gabapentin, amitriptyline, morphine patch and a plethora of other home made remedies gave me complete sleep and feeling refreshed in the morning.

Please don't misunderstand I still have what I call mechanical pain form the joints but not the nagging annoying pain from fibromyalgia. It maybe just a fluke and just coincidence but I'm willing to keep trying.

Thanks for information x

I totally agree that it seems to work better than any of these chemical kidney destroying tablets. They even say Lyrica is causing Alzheimer! So I also will continue (as long as I can get it) to use it. I live in Namibia Africa, so we are still way behind with legislation.

Hi Ken, thank you. It's a very long shot and if they don't I doubt I will be able to buy much of it. But once I returned to my family in UK I will be chasing this up more.

Well I had the last of the only bottle I had. But again another good night. My asthma is well settled for the moment thank goodness. It's been a long long year trying to get it under control.

I hope you, who gives us all so much, finds a little pleasure each day and as well as you possibly can. Life is so hard and we each have our own cross to bear. Remain blessed and soft hugs to ye. Xx

Hi all - CBD oil is legal and can be bought freely from other EU states. I get mine from Holland, and more recently from Amazon.

Good luck!

Hi could I ask you for a specific site you buy from? It's just there is so much out there and I would rather buy from somewhere someone knows the product.

At โ‚ฌ48 for 10mls I wouldn't be able to buy too much. Remain blessed and well x

Hi Olivia

It's a shame that we are all still so dependant on 'Big Pharma'. But I have also tried CBD oil. Which as Naturegirl stated, should not be confused with Hemp oil. Hemp oil is available in all reputable Herbal health food shops like Baldwins- which is an old style Apotheary in South London. Hemp oil can be used in a salad dressing, spooned over your breakfast or just taken orally,& as Nutragirl also stated, contains omega 3,6 & 9- which if you are vegan, can give you the essential fatty acids, that are only otherwise available in dairy & fish oils. Many of which do not contain omega 9-

Hemp oil can also be used on the skin. You can dilute it with other carrier oils like Olive oil,Almond oil,if you're not allergic to it &/or vitE oil. These oils are carrier oils which I purchase from Baldwins.

With CBD oil it is important to understand that you can purchase it in different strengths. I have tried one which is 5% CBD paste and <0.2%TCH --- in Olive oil ---- 20%CBD/80%Olive oil-----it's a 50ml bottle that cost about ยฃ100 ---- By the by the Royal Queen Seeds company---

I sincerely hope that you, have the strength to pursue your interest into alternatives.

I also have a friend who has severe Epilepsy who was told he could trial using CBD,and another friend who is at end of life care with MS, & was also told he could use it. The NHS have recognised the pain relief benefits, but are reluctant to fully embrace it. The same goes for the amount of people who are dependant on insulin for Diabetis. There are foods that could help this condition.

I think that I need a solution that has a higher ratio of CBD/Olive oil or Hemp oil, which is also used as a carrier oil for the CBD oil to be mixed in.

it has become a bit of a grey area here too. Whereby the Government were going to make it illegal for people to sell CBD/THC oils.

Peace-love & light

Vikki
