Trying Hemp Cannabinoid.. For Pain

Cats65 profile image
35 Replies

I have found no relief from strong prescribed Dr's painkillers. I have yet to see a Rhumotology consultant. I was only diagnosed December just gone. My consultant appointment is not until March. I am so desperate in horrific pain I can't wait to get prescribed medication (for pain) so my husband ordered some Hemp Cannabinoid in a spray form. It is legal, it's cannabis But.... With the hallucanagenic properties removed. So I'm going to give it a go. Has any one else heard of this. Hemp Cannabinoid ?

Hi Cats65 ...like you I am currently looking into and exploring alternative forms of pain relief. I have been taking Nortriptyline, Pregabalin, Cocodamol, Sertraline long term, and I also take Thyroxine (under medicated at the mo), HRT, Propanaol, Busopan. I have got to the point where I am experiencing too many side effects particularly weight gain, etc. So I have slowly reduced my meds to try eliminate everything from my system (boy do I know it and it has made me realise how much they actually help me and not told my doctor yet), so my plans are to try 1. Apple Cider Vinegar 2. Hemp 3. CBD products, would be good to keep in touch. Hope you get sime relief, gentle hugs ☆

Only been on it two days so far, a spray under the toungue twice a day. No difference yet (Obviously, perhaps it has to build up in my system) ?

I have apple cider vinegar a great help. I take a glass of warm water with cider vinegar and honey in it first thing every morning and again later in the day. It takes a few weeks my to have full effect so don't give up on it, and if you have any arthritis it can even cause pain at first in those spots as it breaks down the blockages. I looked into it after my car crash years ago and it is good stuff. Also my neighbor who saw me drink it, started to do also because of he had a bit of arthritis. He came back to tell me a week later that cramps he had been getting in in his legs at night had gone. I googled that and discovered that yes it is good for cleaning arteries. It had the secondary side effect for me of,. within a few days of starting on it, totally getting rid of my acid stomach and guts which I would get if I ate it drank certain things. If I do get an acid stomach now I just drink a glass of it as above and within half an hour I am better. For me it has been one of my best weapons . 😊

I have been trying the medipen , although it relaxes me I really don't think it gives me any pain relief. Others though do report benefits.

I am using the medipen, It is really helping me sleep, less so with pain, so I now just use it at bedtime x

Hi perhaps you need something stronger. I have been reading about Prof Dan Clauw a professor of anaesthetics and what he has to say about drugs such as the statins that cause endless side effects including peripheral neuropathy and loss of muscle tone.

The statins caused me to loss core muscle tone according to my rheumatologist and several other consultant physicians. One dr told me he became affected just weeks after starting a statin and stopped taking it.

Sorry I meant to say that Dr Dan Clauw is an expert on pain management.

STATINS>

Prof. Sherif Sultan an eminent specialist in vascular surgery who blows the whistle. on the side effects of statins.

Thanks

I would go for the best quality cbd oil you can get. There are many firms jumping on the cbd bandwagon producing inferior products. Do your research. Join one of the cbd Facebook pages where there at lots of people who will help you. Avoid a well know high street supplements shop.

CBD is cumulative so take it every day for a month before deciding whether it's working. It's not like a painkiller pill where effect is felt in 30 mins.

The company I buy from will send free samples sometimes.

Hi, which company do you use please? I too would like to try. Thank you

Me too. Please could you pm me the details? Thank you in anticipation of your kindly help.

I think I must buy from the same company as deejames . I do only use the blue strength drops when the pain is bad and I've found it helps. No side effects.

I've avoided prescription meds as I seem to get every side effect.

Good morning fibro friends😁 I looked into this last year and started with the medi pen but not a great deal of benefits! I'm now in contact with a guy who was diagnosed terminal with cancer and given 6 months to live. 😔 I'e been over to see him in Ibiza and was given a pure form of CBD OIL and started taking it in October! Within 2 weeks I had reducedthe tramadol from 8 to 4 a day! I feel more awake, alive and the pain is reduced dramatically! I will give contact details in my private box for the link for contact. By the way , he's still here 3 years after diagnosis! Much love people.....Ninja! 😍😍😍

I was only diagnosed in December, the doctors made me take paracetamal 4 times a day (would you believe) then due to nil effect I went on co-codrymol 4 times a day (No effect) then Begining of this month Jan I was put on Tramadol 4 times daily (Yup you guessed no effect) I was supposed to have an appointement with Rhumotology at my local hospital 1st Feb but thats been cancelled untill March 1st (all non urgant hospital appointementes in Essex have been put back) through feeling desperate in pain, hardly able to dress myself and undress and well...Laying down to sleep just doesn't happen, I have had to search the internet to try and find something non addictive or with bad effects so , well my husband found "Hemp Oil / CBD and CBDa in a 400ml spray (£20) It says to just use it morning and night 1 spray under the toungue and not to swallow it for at least two minutes then it absorbs in the blood stream better. I am only on the second day but no difference at all, unless it has to have built up in my system. I dont know if this is what you are using. Let me know Mine was bought on Amazon / totally legall as it has the hallucinagenic properties distilled out of it. On my bottle it has CBD Life on the side in bold letters and on the front white label it says Hemp Oil underneath that it says full spectrum.

Hi Cats65 yes I have tried this and to be honest it works for some people and not others. It’s definitely worth a try as it may work for you. Good luck and I truly hope that it works for you. Love and hugs 🤗🤗🌹🌹xx

I have only been on it two days. Out of desperation for the never ending chronic pain im in which all suffers on here don't need to be told about. To me It's really expensive £20 for a 400mg bottle (Spray) My hubby has looked it up and it does say works for some and not others.... Desperation and relentless pain have led me to try it . I see a consultant for the first time in March, I will then discuss my search for better pain relief that works because none of the painkillers my Drs have prescribed have touched me.

Well im currently in amsterdam and went to a “smart shop” which is a legal respected medical shop for cannabis over here not the coffeeshops( where u just get stoned lol)as i have fibro and a nice dose of ibs.

I spent hour talking to the man who owns shop and he gave me some cbd oil and some cbd powder with tiny amount of thc to relax muscles when have bad day.

So started using about three days ago and i can feel that my body is reacting to it... it less sensitive and painful and my ibs is not as bad plus im sleeping happier and more restful.

So i would say it better then the copious amount of westernised painkiller and drugs i have to take get me through a day ...

U must do ur homework though u dont want to get done and u do not want to take thc only cbd with tiny amount of thc and makesure it medical from a smart shop or medical marijuana...

I agree I am in Spain and you can go to clubs and buy anything over here. I spoke to a very knowledgeable guy who told me that you need the same amount of THC as the CBD for it to be most effective for pain and helping you to sleep. I already tried the CBD oil in the Uk which did absolutely nothing for me and tasted awful. Have ended up with a vapouriser to use which I found difficult as I have never smoked in my life. The man in the shop gave me a strain high in CBD but very low in THC and my pain is so much less and my sleep better. This is proving so beneficial in the US it’s a pity the UK won’t follow suit and get away from all the opposite meds I found made me a zombie.

I buy mine from CBD Brothers they also have a Facebook support group and if you private message them, they will send you some free samples. Only problem is it can get expensive. They say to start on the lowest strength oil and work your way up until it helps. They also do a balm xx

Jaqs2017 profile image
Jaqs2017

i have tried the balm, with minimal sort term relief and would need a daily bucket full as opposed to the thimble full so makes it impractical......gonna give the vinegar ago first, when that runs out going to try hemp next.....and if that fails going to give CBD a try, and ask tio see rheumy for the first time....the pain we all know about and most medics opinions are here try some of these and battle on with it, but really starting to worry about my mobility so feel i need more advice or input - perhaps more physio or supports, who knows!!! gentle hugs all x

From personal experience, the legal cbd oil, that is very very low THC, doesn't work .It's made from the hemp plant.

You need the oil made from the cannabis flowers, it has higher, and in the UK, illegal, % of THC.

These are two completely different oils. The illegal oil shouldn't make you high as long as it isn't too high in THC.

But of course, it's illegal, it's a personal decision whether reducing the pain is worth the risk if committing what is sadly, a crime

Hopefully this government will realise that so many people could be helped by a natural plant, and DRs will stop prescribing toxic drugs.

Sadly, I think the big pharma companies have too much clout, they make huge profits by making these chemicals, with little care for the damage they are doing.

Did you read the article in the TIMES saying that NHS EBGLAND recognise that opiods are INEFFECTIVE in chronic pain?

There is also a comment about the dangers of opiods .

Hazel_Angelstar profile image
Hazel_AngelstarAdministratorFMA UK Staff in reply toapplesandoranges21

there are several research studies that have shown that opiods are not as effective when used for long term/chronic pain than for acute pain. x
