Body screams with pain

Hi guys

My whole body just screams in pain. I have had 2 hip replacements , arthroscopy of shoulder n foot, carpal tunnel and my spine fused

For years I've been to pain mgt etc and I've always thought it was arthritis but after reading up on fibromyalgia I'm guessing it's also what I have. I'm at clinic 29th with tier 3 pain mgt to discuss injecting my sacriollic joints where more arthritis is so I'm gonna ask about fibro.

The meds I'm on are for nerve pain like fb etc so they have probably said I have fibro but never heard

The numbness in my arms and legs at night are the worst ever at the moment

Is this one of fibro symptoms ? ?

Hello Agonyforver

Welcome to the forum :)

If you take a look at our mother site you will find a list of common symptoms of Fibromyalgia fmauk.org

I am sorry to hear that you have had so many health issues going on and I can truly empathise with severe chronic pain, which I have suffered with for many years, amongst other conditions.

Unfortunately Fibro symptoms are very similar to other conditions such as Lyme Disease and MS.

There is no set blood test that can be given to diagnose Fibromyalgia.

I think your best course of action would be to ask your GP for a referral to see a Rheumatologist. These are the Consultants who specialise in diagnosing Fibromyalgia.

The numbness and tingling feeling is a Fibro symptom, but it could also be indicative of MS and so I think it would be best to try to get a formal diagnosis if you can.

Wishing you all the very best for your upcoming appointments.

I would just like to say welcome to the forum. So sorry to read that you are in so much pain. As BlueMermaid3 says there are so many overlapping symptoms with other illnesses as she says those sensations are common both with arthritis of the spine, ME and fibro amongst others.

A diagnosis of fibro seems to be made when other possibilities have been ruled out by scans and blood tests. I do hope you can get some help and a definate prognosis so you can get the correct treatment. Do let us know how you get on.x

Hello and welcome to our friendly fibro forum where we can offer advice, support, help and information on everything fibro.

It is difficult to make a diagnosis of fibro as it tends to be the condition that is left after all the blood tests and xrays are done to eliminate anything else.

It is made doubly difficult because we all seem to differ in our symptoms although the thing common to everyone is pain.

I hope you get a result quickly and your pain meds can be tweaked to suit you. As far as pain meds go, again, there are many variables and what suits one may not suit another.

I wish you luck and a better day tomorrow.
