Morning all my lovely fibro friends. Beautiful day here in Bristol again.
Wanted to ask, does anyone suffer from really bad leg and foot cramp during the night? I have started to get this nearly every night now. My toes cramp so badly they curl right under,so painful. Have had fibro and osteoarthritis for years, but never experienced cramping quite like this before.
Hope you all have a good , pain free,if possible , Sunday. Xπ

It is indeed a lovely morning with the sun shining, and clear blue sky.
Leg and foot cramps are very painful and I wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy!.
I go through spells of having cramp,, and what I've found stops them is to drink a small glass of Tonic Water, (without the Gin, lol), before going to bed. Tonic Water contains Quinine, which helps to prevent cramps.
The other option would be to go to your GP and he/she could prescribe Quinine tablets for you.
Hope you can find relief soon, as I know how painful cramp can be.
I went to a yoga class for many years and used to get cramp a lot. My brilliant yoga teacher always used to say to drink Tonic water as the Quinine in it would help.

Hi, I get a lot of cramp in my right arm both legs and feet it's absolutely horrible, will try the tips you've been given for tonic water, if you find anything that works please let me know, all the best to you and take care x
I am so gneuinely sorry to read this and I know exactly how horrid cramps can be. I get them due to my oedema and they are very unpleasant. I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices cache on this issue:
I'm not sure if it's the same but I have Restless Leg Syndrome which is quite often a companion of fibro. I get cramps and lots of tingling of the nerves and sometime pulses and my legs feel week. You could google it to see if you relate, it usually comes on at the back end of the day. My GP oddly prescribed Diazipam 5mg twice a day when needed. It works great for me about 80% reduction, it also relaxes my back and shoulder muscles which lock up due to bulging discs in my neck, bonus. But this may not be the same as mine is primarily nerve related and then cramp.
Touch wood not had this for a while but I do go through phases where I spend most of the night pacing around in agony. I never made the connection to fibromyalgia as I assumed it was connected to one of my other conditions. Thank you for helping to clear up that mystery - although it doesn't help us with the cramps - sorry π€
