Hi all you wonderful people just wanted to ask you all do any of you get a lot of cramp with Fibro , as I get it a lot in my legs , feet, hands, I am doing things around the house as you do then I get this terrible cramp and pain with it . That makes you stop what you are doing and rest then I get annoyed with my self because I can’t carry on for a while , it’s a good job I now live alone you should hear me when I shout and swear at my self especially when I keep dropping things or I go to get hold of some thing and miss it because I can’t get the fingers to move as the joints are so stiff , even the spiders have got fed up with me moaning and swearing at my self as I saw them going out the door with their suit cases some times I might be ok for a couple of days and I think oh good I can get on . But then if I have to a bit more after that then every thing starts . Then it’s back to the swearing to my self and moaning and the more I try to push my self to get things finished the weaker my arms and legs get so I have to sit down and rest oh that is so annoying I hate my self for having this problem although there is nothing we can do about it but you just feel such a fool it’s like this morning I was trying to put something back in it’s box but because of the stiffness in the finger joints I couldn’t do it so I just said oh sod it screwed it all up and stuffed it in the cupboard and shut the door and that’s where it will stay till when ever anyway that’s enough of my moans , it’s so nice to hear from you all , you lovely people God Bless you all and please take care xx
Cramp: Hi all you wonderful people just... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Cramp
Yes, I suffer from cramps pretty much on a daily basis, especially my lower legs at night. My hands tend to cramp when I've been doing a repetitive activity for too long (usually crochet) xxx
Hi Hitman I am sorry to hear cramp is causing you so much anygst. I get cramps all the time as well. I take or spray magnesium when it's worst - might be a good idea to talk to your GP though to check if your electrolytes are out of balance? I too let rip at the spiders - hope you get help that assists! Take care.
oh hitman...I swear at myself all day, all night, every day. I have this thing with my left hand where my index finger kind of locks into my thumb [like a hard pinch] and it just stays there. Might last a few seconds, could last all day long, can't do a damn thing with that hand and I cuss at it. Lucky for me I am right hand dominant, LOL.
I am dealing with gout right now, mostly my right foot, lower leg but left side too. I can barely walk so I am using my cane. It's been a full 9 days so I hope it's almost finished it's course. More swearing at myself. I think a lot of it is the frustration that our bodies just will not cooperate and dammit! this getting old stuff is for the birds!
I so enjoy reading your posts, even when the topic is pain, it can make me smile. Be well. ~Sha
PS I drink Zero water, lemonade. It has no sugar and lots of electrolytes.
try using a bolster under your knees and lower legs at night or during the day on the settee. I have multiple conditions and this helps with my Lymphoedema in lower legs and feet. I put the higher end under my knees due to arthritis in right knee.
I find Tonic Water helps as it has Quinine in it. Quinine is known to help with cramps.
My GP suggested it, and I find it works very well.
Hi I have the same problem your not on your own this illness gets on my nerves I'm always dropping things through cramp in my fingers I get a lot of cramp in my feet aswell and weakness in my wrists & elb
Hi I get so frustrated been going through a breaking period. Whatever your holding just drops. Legs get cramp at night and I have a glass of tonic water, it does relieve the pain. The worst is I think I have hold of things then crash it is broken. We are all the same, you just have to get on with it.
Ask the doctor for a prescription for Quinine Sulphate. I was drinking tonic water by the pint for cramp. The doctor prescribed it. One tablet a day really helps.
Hi Hitman... I too suffer with leg cramps along with fingers, hands, elbows very painful and so sore that they tend to lock.
May I ask a question from you and other members??? a female friend of mine echos everything I say regarding my Fibo and she has been diagnosed it a year ago. One thing that separates us is that I am tea total and she is a heavy drinker.. she does not take my advice that alcohol plays a negative part in fighting or controlling fibo... she does not accept this.. who is wrong and who is right.. thanks for any constructive comments.
