You could need salt. Old fashioned, and probably now not good by todays criteria, but I use more salt in the summer than in the winter 🐸

I agree with Arymretep.

I had cramp for a long time and drank tonic water ( good source of quinine) which was a big help.

I also agree with the dash of gin improving the taste, but I think this may counteract the good the quinine does.

Try it and see I maybe wrong but sure I read it somewhere.

Take care

Hi there

Yes, I agree with the others. Quinine in tonic water helps with cramp.

When I used to do yoga many years ago I would get dreadful cramp and my yoga teacher always told me to drink tonic water due to the quinine.

Good luck. I hope it helps you.

Wishing you less pain and more peace

Hi there. me too sometimes, it usually happens when I,ve sat in front of the pc or the tennis on tv for too long!! Stick your leg out straight whilst sitting and whirl each foot on a clockwise and anti clockwise motion, this will also help some leg muscles too.. I agree with tonic water, slice of lemon lots of ice- but soz no gin if you,re on meds!!

Have you felt you calf muscles?, it could be pulling on your foot. You can try massaging your calf, it usually helps me some.

Oh yea. I just remembered my massage therapist rubs where my arch meets the heel. Well all next to the heel on the bottom inside of my foot, she said my foot feels like I have plantar fasciitis. She has told me before that if you rub at the ends of a muscle it will help the whole muscle loosen faster, so maybe that will help some. I try to stretch my foot in every direction when ever I think about it to keep the muscles from getting too tight. I also bought some custom made shoe inserts, I can't go a full day without wearing them.

One stretch I like to help my foot whether im standing with my foot on a step or with ankle rested on my other leg (crossing your leg) but I put the point of stretch - umm - where i grab or put my foot on the step- is the ball of my pinkie toe. Hold the stretch for 30 seconds- (if you do it too short of a time it won't help, too long and it can tear the muscle )

My other favorite way is to step where the back half of my foot is on dirt and the other a concrete walk way in my yard just an inch or two difference . Or slightly more of a stretch I put the front half of my foot on the wood surrounding the garden it is a few inches higher.

I prefer a small incline like where dirt and concrete meet- just a few inches. It does a gentle stretch. I do the stretch for 30 seconds each foot several times.

Good luck

You can get quinine tablets from the doctors on prescription. I have been on it for years, but the minute I stop it, I go into severe cramps that can happen anywhereare in my body.

Kerry682....I've had cramp in my toes and feet for years now.....so irritating at night, especially....I take a cramp tablet every night before bed along with my other 250 million (ok, so I'm exaggerating a teeny bit) tablets/inhalers.....as routine now! x

Hi Kerry682

I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are experiencing this issue and I sincerely hope that you can find something to give you some relief. I also think Quinine is probably the best place to start? If this does not work it may be best to discuss it with your GP just to get other medical conditions ruled out of the equation?

I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck, and please take care of yourself.

All my hopes and dreams for you

Ken

Morning. My podiatrist told me to drink tonic water or see the doctor for quinine tablets if that doesn't work. It worked 😃

If like me you don't like Tonic Water, Bitter Lemon also contains Quinine. It works well, but you need to keep up the supply.
