My right foot hurts nearly every time I walk out. I think it relates to a break i had a few years ago and my GP said arthritis has probably set in but I've never been prescribed anything for it. I don't want to take ibuprofen every day.
Any ideas and suggestions.
Thanks

I broke my foot about 5 years ago an dr just did X-ray last month an said I have osteoarthritis in my foot and lower back (from slipping disks so often) hopes this helps I was told to see a pain management dr because the pain is so bad!
Thanks TeiaMarie - sorry to hear about your pain. Yes my break was nearly 6 years ago, I think, although they told me to treat it as a sprain. It went bright purple and had it X-rayed a few days later and they said it was the cuboid bone. The pain I get now has only been in the past couple of years.
I am so genuinely sorry to read that you are suffering and struggling in this way, and I want to sincerely wish you all the best of luck. I have pasted you a link below to the NHS Choices cache on lifestyle treatments, whereby they discuss diet, weight and exercise to help alleviate symptoms and pain.
Thanks lots for the link and for your kind words, Ken
I didn't do anything to my right foot, but have arthritis anyway. I first went to a physical therapist who was clueless. Then I went to a specialist, had an MRI where it was finally determined. Anyway, went in for a procedure which included injections and manipulation of the foot. I was put out for this since undoubtedly it would be painful. Haven't had any trouble since and would recommend it to anyone suffering this condition.
No, Foggy, it definitely wasn't surgery because when I woke up there was just a bandage around my foot, and later when I removed it, there were no signs of bruising, puncture, etc. I could walk afterwards, but it felt slightly numb for a while. I would say it was the type of manipulation that osteopaths do.
