sleep pain: Hi all what a night both... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
sleep pain
You and me both so I can give you due sympathy I don;t know what was wrong with me last night but every bit ached and I twisted and turned in bed like a corkscrew. You are allowed to laugh but I somehow did twist all the bed clothes around me and in the dark my befogged brain took ages to work out how I could untwist myself and I was in so much pain trying to work it all out. If I am like that only an Epsom salts bath will do for me as at least whilst I am in it the pain eases. Didn't like to start running a bath in the middle of the night so as to disturb the OH who hasn;t been sleeping well himself through neck pain so lay there and suffered. Decided to have a really hot shower this morning and wash hair (only way I can do it now is under shower) I dropped everything I tried to hold. Every minute I had OH shouting "are you okay up there"? I wish that they could give me an aneasthetic every night.
Hope we both have a better night tonight.x
I'm in a different time zone than you are, but I also had a horrible night last night. I set my alarm so I couldn't sleep in and it was a struggle getting out of bed.
I was in such pain in my abdomen and shoulders/neck, and felt twitchy and hot and my skin and bones were hypersenstive and numb and the room was stuffy. I took a pain killer; I tried reading again, then I got sleepy until I closed my eyes. I lay down for awhile in bed then I got up to edit a letter I was writing. Finally I gave up and curled up on the little loveseat and got a few hours of sleep.
I guess next time I should try some heat to help relax my body; maybe some of these would work for you. I'm always agreeing that it helps, then I don't always do it when it might help. I don't have a bathtub with my room, but I have herbal wraps I can use on my tummy, my shoulders, etc. I also have peppermint based and arnica based pain reliever lotions. They usually work miracles for my muscles.
I think I must have been on my pity-pot last night, since I didn't try anything that has helped my discomfort in the past... except a pil . . . I am sorry you had a bad night and I hope it's much better for you over the next few nights and beyond.
Coincidentally Mdaisy posted this a day ago which has some info on sleep you may find relevant.
