healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., hi there I too have been on a full face mask for 6 years as eventually being diagnosed with sleep apnea, I would differently ring the lung function unit at your local hospital,, if it’s showing you had more episodes this week I think they would want to see you. The machine is supposed to keep the airways open for us so episodes I thought should be down to none (thats what I thought I might be wrong)sometimes they say if mask is loose and not fitted properly this can happen , I know I change mine every 6 months and secondly the pressure might not be correct, I hope I’ve been of some help to you I’d differently ring now before the weekend. I get headaches every morning and sometimes they go off but think the machine drys out my sinuses. I’ve sent a link to you as it will give you and other members more privacy if you would like to lock your posts, take care hope you get it sorted ,come back on the forum and say how you got on I d be interested xx

Hi yasmintina.

Thankyou for your reply, all info i get im grateful for. I wish I'd read your message earlier. I don't wear the full mask i wear the nasel one. I did try the full face one made me feel claustrophobic. You mention that you get dry sinuses, i think that is what I'm getting also a dry throat. I'll look at that link you sent me. If I'm still getting the same read it I'll phone the hospital. You say that you change your mask every 6 months, do you get that done at the hospital? Again thanks for your info and yes I'll let you know how i get on. 🙂. You said you'd sent me a link but can't seem to see it. Xx

healthunlocked.com/fibromya..., sorry here it is, yes I normally ring they send one in the post for me as it gets loose after a time, I tried the nasal but had to wear a jaw strap to keep mouth closed but that irritated me, not always easy like this morning feel dried out and heady , normally 2 mugs of coffee in bed to get me going as I wake up a bit grumpy. Also I wake up tummy full of air where I’ve tried to open my mouth so that is abit painful and have to walk around and let nature distribute it naturally . But yes any help/advice I can share here to help. I sleep on my stomach so because I m face down in pillow I wake up with lovely printed marks over my face but I’ve slept like that for years. Take care hope your weekend is okay very windy here again I’m Suffolk this morning xx

Hiya thanks Yasmintina. I find it hard breathing through my nose at the best of times as always suffer with a blocked nose. Thankfully i sleep on my bk as too much pain laying in other position. I do wake up with a mark on my nose mine. Any advice you give me is gratefully recieved. 👍. I not surprised you get a painful stomach if being pumped full of air😪. I'll have a look at tthe link you've sent me. Hope you to have have a good weekend. 🙂

It should tell you on your cpap machine how many apnoeas you've had. I'm not sure how accurate those readings would be on a mobile phone. If you know how to check the readings on your cpap machine, go with those readings. If the mask leaks when you sleep, this will bump up the numbers of apnoeas recorded. If you have been waking up with headaches and feeling like you haven't slept then maybe you are stopping breathing more often. If you feel OK, maybe the app on your mobile isn't accurate.

Thankyou for your reply. I'll have to get the manual out as not sure how to do it on the machine.

The settings could be locked so that you can't fiddle with the settings. The only reason I know is because I was a respiratory nurse and had to operate cpap machines. It might be the case that you have to have the settings changed by your GP practice or CPAP clinic.

Ok thankyou for your advice and help. I've looked at the settings and can't find anything, so it might be like you said that my consultant might have to do it. I think I'll have to ring them and explain what's happening and the advice I've been given. I never used it last night as I've been handed a chest infection that's making me feel doubly crap any slight exertion and I'm out of breath. 😪. How are you feeling today knackeredkaty? Xx🙂

Hi Debbs73, I'm not bad thank you. I've been out of work for a couple of months and started a new job today so things are improving. As for my health it hasn't been great lately. I have a spike in pain this week. I think stress makes it worse. Thanks for asking. 😁

Hiya. I'm glad your feeling ok. That's good news, how did your day go then? What job do you do now then? I bet it felt strange and good to be going bk to work. I stopped work over 15 years ago. I used to be a career out in the community, helping people with ms, learning difficulties, alzimers, and other illness. I loved my job, it felt good knowing I'd helped someone and been there when they have no family. But had to give it up due to my health. I'd had a few ops whilst working but my health just got worse. Now i only go out once or twice a week and that kills me. My son and husband are good and help where they can. Let me know how u got on on. ya first day. Xxx🙂
