Rib Pain
Hi Linda
yes I do and was beginning to think I was being a hypochondriac again. Sometimes it seems that everything hurts so much that you don't know what the cause is so it is easy to say it is fibro. Keep thinking I should mention it to doctor but then I think I seem to moan about something else each time I go. I feel like I'm bruised all round the area and sometimes it hurts to breathe.
Hi linda, I personally don't suffer in this way, but I do know of people who experience similar symptoms. There is something that some fibro sufferers experience called Costochondritis which it might be worth asking your doctor about, it may not be anything to do with what you are feeling, but conversely your doctor may feel it's worth investigating this avenue.
Sending positive healing thoughts your way

Hi there,yes I do suffer with pain In between my ribs and I find that no painkillers I take helps it.I just end up massaging it even though it hurts.Sometimes heat pads can help a bit but it's very painful.I also get pain across my chest and in my sternum as well.In fact that was the first symptom I got that started off all my problems.I don't know if mine is chostocondritis as I've never been told it is I just presumed that it's all part of fibro
I too have this especially at night, feels like I am having a heart attack. The doctor thought it was chostocondritis. It comes and goes so I don't worry so much now. I think a lot with fibro suffer with it from time to time
yes i do and as already said pain killers dont help hot water bottle or heat pads help a bit.
Hello lindamorgan,
As Foggy mentioned it could possibly be Costochondritis as many seem to experience this including myself. Here is a link for more information;

As, you know any symptoms of central Chest pain should be mentioned to a Healthcare Professional as there are other serious conditions that may cause similiar symptoms. I know you understand this so I guess I'm saying don't think every pain is Fibro related just in case x
Hope you get some relief

Hi, yes I suffer with pain in my ribs it is very uncomfortable and painful, painkillers do not work and a visit to the doctors was not very helpful either but I struggle on and I put a hot water bottle on my ribs it helps to ease the pain but it comes and goes .Hope you are ok gentle hugs x
Hi im new on here joined today I have copd / emphysima and fybro I suffer really bad with my ribs it feels like my ribs are twisted somehow thats the only way I can explain it
Hi lindamorgan
I have the most terrible pain in my ribs that my doctor put down as a result of fibromyalgia. It's not that straight forward however. My stomach started to swell and became a funny shape with a large protruding lump the size of a tennis ball sticking out. I naturally presumed that it was a hernia. However, my doctor said that my stomach was separating and coming apart. I now where a stomach truss to hold it all in place and she said that I felt the pain more as a result of my fibromyalgia.
The funny part (or rather embarrassing) depending on your point of view is that upon looking on the internet the only people who stomach's tend to do this are women who have given birth! Now I am a liberal easy going kind of fella but I don't think as a fifty year old man that I am going to be giving birth any time soon.
Anyway, I hope it all gets sorted for you and take care of yourself
