Hi poppet - sorry you’re so anxious, especially when you probably just want to sleep!

If you’re really worried and it’s causing you problems, give 111 a call - they are so helpful and thorough.

I did a quick Google (obviously I’m no doctor!) and it suggests that it could be something called costochondritis, which is a slight swelling in the joints of the ribs and breastbone. According to my trusty Google search, it can be managed with ibuprofen in the short term and can go away by itself, but you should try and see your gp about it.

I hope you’re not too stressed and are able to get some rest - our bodies do crazy things and I think fibro puts us on hyper alert for anything out of the ordinary.

Sending hugs 💙

Hi sorry you are having a rough time, lots of things that go with fibromyalgia worry us, but try to relax and as 111 suggested I would make appointment with drs to get it checked out, as it will put your mind at rest, always have new symptoms checked. Good luck hunni x

Hello Deyuko, sorry you're in agony and waiting in A &E made it worse. I hope you had some rest have got some answers. over Easter I had excruciating pain the ribs. Could not get up, laugh, cough, turn, even breathing brought on pain but I had no swelling and in four days it went away. I suspect it was something to do acid or the gut. But doctors could not confirm. I hope you find out what it is to relieve your anxiety. Have a good day.
