Hey
I’d anyone taking Coq10 as a supplement.? Someone suggest it but not sure what is does ?

hi,
I have just started taking them.
This is what my clinic says regarding the Coq10.
Coenzyme Q10 200mg once daily for 14 days and then reduce to 100mg once daily
What is it for CoQ10 is a biomolecule that is present in every cell. It is a potent antioxidant that protects cells (eggs/sperm) by decreasing the damaging effects of oxidative stress. It also plays a major role in cellular energy production (mitochondrial activity). As such, CoQ10 supplementation has been associated with an improvement in egg/sperm quality, and overall pregnancy rates.
When to start Ideally, 3 months prior to starting treatment.
When to stop Day of egg collection.
Side effects Abdominal pain, loss of appetite, nausea/vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness, insomnia, fatigue, rash, itchy skin and irritability/agitation.
Natural sources Meat, fish, nuts, beans, vegetable/sesame oil, dairy products, fruit, vegetables and cereal.
But my nurse called me and said that all the patients she had spoken to have said that the side effects aren’t as horrendous as they sound and not everyone gets all of them
Hope this helps xx
Hey
Thank you that’s really helpful!
We have a frozen embryo (2nd cycle) so not sure if it will benefit me to not (as we already have the egg etc) 🤔
It’s so hard isn’t it - so much out there ! X
it is so hard, every cycle you want to throw everything at it. I am planning on starting my new fresh cycle when my period arrives and have only just started taking them and it’s recommended to start a few months before so don’t know if they will help. But I feel better taking them and that I’m doing something while I am waiting xx
Yes. It's meant to improve egg quality. My consultant told me to take 300mg. I increased that to 600mg per day following reading It Starts With The Egg but I am in my 40s so figure my egg quality really needs a boost. For maximum effect it needs to be taken for around 3 months prior to egg collection as that is the time those eggs will be developing but still worth taking if you are closer to egg collection than that I reckon. I have never experienced any side effects even when I was taking 3 x 100 mg tablets in the morning and 3 x 100 mg tablets in the evening! I break it down to 2 tablets three times a day now.
Hi there. I have been taking Coq10 for a good while now. I just stopped for a while after my miscarriage in 2016 as they’re quite expensive especially the Ubiquinol brand. I then recommenced taking them in 2021 and still continue to take 200mg once a day. I’m 24 weeks pregnant and my Consultant obgyne has approved of it. I have a history of hypertension. Apparently it’s good for the heart too. You can research a lot of information about Coq10 and its benefits. Best of luck to your journey. X
Were you advised hypertension could give you issues trying to conceive? I have it but is well controlled with medication
Hi I was recommended by biocare (supplement supplier) that I take COQ10 liquid during trying to conceive. I am 8 months down the line though and have taken it since I started trying. No side effects for me. Mind is very expensive so I’m wondering where you get your supplements
