CoQ10 for FET

Hi all,

I’ve kept taking CoQ10 in case I need to go through another egg retrieval if the transfers don’t work.

I’ve read it may help implantation but evidence is sparse.

Has anyone continued to take CoQ10 for their FET and it worked?

Thanks

I haven’t taken this but am going to start as will need to have another cycle in the next few months. Can I ask what dosage you take? My doctor has recommended 600mg. Just curious if that seems high as it seems to be sold in much lower mg.

I take 600mg. I take 1 capsule in the am and 1 in the pm. I’m 37 and I get mine from Amazon x

Hi. As long as you don’t overdo the.viyamins etc then take what’s comfortable for you. Check with your clinic. Good luck. Diane

I took it and it worked. I got the ubiquinol variety as ready they were better for absorption.

800mg per day before egg collection

600mg per day between collection and transfer (about 14 weeks) and

200mg per day from transfer until end if 12 weeks pregnant

I have a 12 week baby boy now.

I must stress I was taking a lot of other vitamins as well.

Did you have a fresh transfer? I’m on a lot of vitamins so was looking to see if I can cut any back. Were you recommended to take the CoQ10 for transfer. I’m on 600mg. It’s recommended in a bundle from zita west x

Hi Kerry1487

Apologoies for the delayed response. I had a frozen transfer as did PGT-A testing. During that period I continued to take the vitamins and prepare my body for transfer.

I know how prohibitively expensive it can be. I had heard of Zita West but bought everything seperately, using a mix of Amazon, Biovea and H & B. Only advice I can give is if you sign up for a thing called coupert (basically an online tool that searches for discount codes on loads of websites), you get quite a lot of discounts and some cashback vouchers. x

Thank you. Did you take CoQ10 as part of your vitamins? X

Yes. So the reason I took each one individually was because a multivitamin for them all wasn’t in large enough doses so I would have had to supplement anyway.

Thank you. I’ll continue to take them as they don’t seem to cause any harm.

I always stop before transfer and 2ww as recommended by our clinic as not tested as safe in pregnancy and it can mess with my cycles a little but I know a lot of ladies stay on it. Maybe check with your clinic in transfer day xx

Thank you, my clinic aren’t great at recommending anything apart from folic acid and vitamin d x

Yeah mine are the same but I told them I was taking it and should I stop (they didn’t give me answer when I asked should I take it in the first place other than some women do) but did answer the should I stop it question. Consultant at transfer was defo more helpful than the nurses at appointment I found in case that’s helpful xx

I didn’t know consultants did transfers. Mine was done by a nurse and I think my next is the same x

Oh my clinic (self funded nhs) is either consultant or senior nurses ie the people who do the egg collections do the transfers or a very senior nurse must be different different places xx
