Any one find coq10 is worth it eqq quality wise?. I have a few hatching embryos frozen but many of mine are only expansion 3, kicking myself i perhaps should have given them more energy using this suppliment. Not even sure it would have speeded them along in their development or not. Does taking COQ10 change the timing of monthly cycle? How much to take? Do i stop after transfer? Hoping to do a natural as ovulate regularly and regular timing of periods.
Thanks ... and merry christmas! x

Hi there. I took CoQ10 for nearly two years before I finally had my first egg collection this summer. I missed some, but mostly I took it every day. We did a short stimulation of just one week and I got three eggs. All of them fertilized, and two were normal and were frozen for future FET. I'm in the TWW for the first one now. I'm 41, so I think the 100% fertilization rate, even with just 3 eggs, is pretty good. That is just my experience, but the doctor was really surprised.
Coenzyme q10 was one of the only supplements I took religiously during my successful ivf (4 years ago). I think I took the recommended dose until egg collection.
I think there is some evidence for it... Not sure it made any difference, but can’t do any harm Good luck! X
Myself and my partner took Ubiquinol which is a more concentrated form of Coq10. It was to help with his sperm issues but I took it too. We have just finished our first ICSI cycle and I got 4 eggs, 3 fertilized and made it to day5 and we had a hatching blastocyst transferred. It worked, I'm pregnant at 41.
I’ve done 3 egg collections and each time we’ve had 100% fertilisation rate. However this last cycle me and my OH were on 400mg ubiquinol a day, and we got 8 high quality frosties (compared to 4 the first round and 2 the second round). I’m 2 years older than the first round so I really think it helped. It’s the only thing we did differently (except adding omega). Xx
Seems to help but recommendation is to start 90-120 days before EC. It helps keep the mitochondrial DNA healthy, which is a key factor in egg quality (and helps sperm quality too). My RE advised 1000mg/day for me, 300mg for OH. It shouldn't impact ovulation, as noted below you need the ubiquinol (coq10 in oil) otherwise your body can't process it - it's the more expensive version. Dr Google has tons of advice on this and there are a lot of companies to buy medical grade from. We got ours from Costco.
Yes I believe its worth it! There are many research on this helping the quality of egg and sperm both. Me and my husband take Ubiquinol which is a better bio available form of COQ10. The dosage for women is more than men. I personally take 300-400 Ubi which is equal to 600 -800 COQ10 and they say is the min needed. My husband takes 100-150 ubi.I have taken it for several years without any alteration to my cycles! No worries!
