Cycle length after IVF

Hi All,

I’m just wondering how many of you have had egg collection done & then had a gap before having embryo transfer, & what your cycles were like in that time?

I have always had 28-29 day cycles. I had egg collection done on 2nd May & have had 2 periods since then. My embryos have been frozen whilst I await surgery. I expected my 1st & possibly 2nd period after collection to be a bit late cos of all the hormones etc. But now I am on day 34 of this current cycle with no sign of period coming. I had a bit of cramping a couple of days ago but that’s it. How long can cycles stay irregular for? It’s frustrating as a small part of me is thinking maybe I am pregnant & by some miracle it happened naturally. But deep down I know that is highly unlikely. I thought things would be back to normal by now, anyone had a similar experience?

Hello! I normally have regular cycles at 29 days but after our first round of IVF, they were longer for two months - 31 and 32 days respectively. The clinic did warn us to expect irregular cycles. I hope this helps!

Hi HortC. It can take up to three months for your cycle to return to what is normal to you, so no need to worry. Good luck! Diane
