Can this actually be happening? My IVF cycle was cancelled as my follicles didn’t get over 11mm (all 7 of them) by day 10 & consultant said he expected as much with an AMH of 2.0 following surgery on my ovaries to remove large endometriomas. They gave me an IUI instead but it was never going to work with 11mm follicles, even with a trigger shot.
I met with my endo surgeon couple weeks later for a check up on endo & explained I’m just going straight to donor eggs, no more messing around. She seemed shocked & said I still think you can do this naturally. She explained she’s the one who has seen what’s going on in there & that everything is perfect apart from now only having 7 follicles. (Only 🙈)
She said stop thinking about how many follicles you have as you only need to worry about that when doing IVF; naturally you only need one of those she said! An IVF nurse also advised to stop putting my legs up after sex as my cervix is in a certain position that meant if I tilted up and lifted my legs, the cervix would no longer be sat in a pool of sperm.
I truly think my surgeon’s comments somehow changed my mindset & allowed my mind to convince my body that I could do it naturally. Next ovulation we only had chance to have sex once (all other cycles we have done it every other day). One time!!! And here I am at 13dpo with a positive test. The mind is a very powerful thing.
Still in shock & I’m aware of how ridiculously early this is but at least I know that things are actually working in there!! I was just about to organise a very expensive round of IVF with donor eggs. That is now on hold, stick little one... stick!!!

What a lovely story. It’s my dream to be able to ring that clinic and to walk into my GP and say look what we did!
I’ve started to take control in that sense and started to believe it will happen naturally it’s the only thing keeping me going in between appointments. It may be a dream but it’s my dream and look- here you are so it can be done.
I can’t imagine the over whelming feeling you must feel and how nervous/happy/anxious you must feel but a massive congratulations and enjoy every second.
It’s funny really how happy I feel for complete strangers on here in comparison to people in my family or friends but it’s because we all have struggled and are still fighting for our miracles xxz

This is amazing, congratulations! I’ve just had my first cycle cancelled due to poor response to the drugs, and like you I have an AMH of 2. I’ve been thinking IVF may never work if I just don’t respond at all but hearing your story of falling pregnant naturally is so inspiring! Best of luck for going forwards and congratulations again
Awww thank you. Yes it can be done. I’m now almost 14 weeks. All we need is one egg, not the many we need for IVF. I hope my story gets into your mind like my surgeons got into mine and gives you the positive mindset needed. Wish you sooo sooo much luck! You can do it x

This is the best post I've read on here - made my day after getting my negative result today. My clinic messed up my egg retrieval and my partner said after that maybe we should just do the deed anyway to see if one of the remaining 6 or 7 fertilised. To be honest, I wish we had now!! As the two eggs they managed to get and put back in were not great. Could've got the good one naturally!
