Has any one experienced a change in their menstrual cycles since undergoing IVF treatment? I use to have a regular cycle which would last around 23-26 days, and bleeding up to 7 days. My cycle's are much shorter now at 21 days and bleeding between 3-5 days. This sudden shift in my cycle has made it difficult to track when I'm ovulating or when my next period should arrive, as it's never on time. Should I be concerned, as it could be hormones which are unbalanced?

After IVF treatment it can take up to 3 months for your cycle to return to whatever was normal for you Difficult to track ovulation so make sure having intercourse 2/3 times a week
Wow, IVF medication seems to wreak to reak havoc on our bodies. I had an upcoming frozen transfer which had to be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. In the meantime, my partner and I will continue to try naturally until our next hospital appointment. Thank you and you.
I’m struggling with the same thing. Before IVF I would have 28 days cycles and 5 days of bleeding. Now my cycles are more around 30-31 with 3 days of bleeding. I monitor my heart rate and wrist temp on my Apple Watch and those have been all over the place too, so it’s more difficult now to spot something out of the ordinary when TTC and to predict my ovulation day. With my cycles being longer, I just need to keep testing for ovulation until I find it. It seems that it’s all normal but definitely a bit more inconvenient. I left my FET until Jan due to travel but I’m pleased that I did cause by then I would have gone through 4 cycles since my chemical and hopefully it will all be more “normal” and predictable.
Hi Happy_face, The same happened to me and I became really very worried since the doctor said I can have the FET immediately after our fresh one failed. I wanted to wait just because I wasn't emotionally prepared, but in retrospect I don't think my body was prepared either. It took about 3-4 months to come back to my normal cycle. I still seem to be ovulating regularly though (I use strips to check for this), which makes it a bit easier to keep track. Good luck!!!
4 months after my egg retrieval, I still don't feel like my hormones have fully returned back to normal. I had the strangest period this month from seeing a light bleed on day one which lasted for 30mins then stopped completely. The second day the same thing, then on the third day a full flo. At times I regret IVF, telling myself did I do more damage to my body than good, because my partner and I were able to conceive naturally which unfortunately ended in a miscarriage, prior to starting IVF treatment. However, this was our last resort if we were not able to conceive naturally which we haven't given up hope on either.
mine were the same however I’m rapidly heading towards 45 so mine could be an age thing
Me too. But literally just before I started IVF in march this year I was like clock work now I can't predict my period. I'm sure it's the drugs that have upset my hormone balance
