The title pretty much says what's happening, I feel so bumed and upset. When I had my laproscopy 2 years a year test was performed n tubes were open, then in Feb 2020 before covid I have dummy embryo 3D SIS scan test and they said everything seemed fine...every other scan my tubes never had fluid.
Started norethisterone on 10th august- 22nd, and had major pain constipation and hot sweats shivers the lot! Every side effect I got... the constipation was the complete right off for me.
When I went in for my 1st scan during my 3rd day of bleed after I finished noristherone this is when they noticed I was in alot of pain on my left side and there was 1cm of fluid. They said they would start my treatment of bemfola & menopur... BUT FREEZE MY EMBRYOS.
I've been closely monitored every 2 days I've been going in for a scan. I've been stressing that I desperately need a consultation with consultant to talk about the surgery I will need after egg collection.
They want to either clip my left tube or remove the tube... and I want to have my endo cyst removed on the right hand side.
My question is: when having this type of surgey... how long will it take to heal and recover and would they put me on birth control to avoid endo returning. And then would I then have to be off birth control for a certain time before embryo transfer?
Has anyone else suffered from hydrosalphinx and endo or just hydrosalphinx and how was the surgery and recovery?
Did anyone end up having success with embryo transfer?
Desperate for some uplifting stories that can shift my feelings of feeling useless and sad.
Thanks xxxx

Hi I have had my tubes removed for a different reason but I can say the recovery was really quick. I had key hole surgery which I assume you are also having. I was completely fine within 2 weeks. Getting embryos to freeze is a huge success, some people go through the whole cycle and get none so that it a positive and you want to be as healthy as possible for transfer. Good luck!
Thank you for the reply... that's really good to know your recovery was really quick. If you dont mind me asking.. hows your journey been since having tubes removed?
Yeah I'm hoping I dont have to wait long, my egg collection will be next week some time. I hope I get a good amount frozen. So atleast I can then focus on just chasing up appointments and surgery date. Will start dieting and exercising after egg collection..... hopefully should make me feel a bit better. X thank u for the reply x
Yes very quick recovery. To have tube removed via keyhole there were three small incisions- one on pelvis, one in belly button and one on the side on hip. Dissolvable stitches only so no follow up appt needed. Since tubes removed, one terrible round of IVF long protocol. Then did a round of mild IVF which dramatically improved results and currently pregnant. Tubes play no role when you have IVF so their absence won’t affect your number or quality of eggs at all. Hopefully someone else can answer your endo queries. It’s always so helpful to hear real stories as often doctors don’t mention everything unless you’re there with your research! Xx
Hey, I had both my tubes clipped due to hydrosalpinx. It was key hole surgery, which I had in March 2018 and I was doing our first ivf in May 2018. The recovery is quick, operation was ok, went home the same day. Currently doing my 5th transfer. Good luck to you xxx
I hope transfer number 5 is the lucky one for you Raluca x 🤞🤞🤞 they spoke about clipping ot removal. I think for me to avoid any issues in future I would prefer having it removed. Everyone is saying it's still a quick recovery time for having it removed which is good to hear. I'm so glad u only waiting 2 months to then be able to start ivf. How was your ovarian reserve after the OP did u manage to get a good amount of embryos xx
Thank you Jasmeet, 🤞🤞 yes lucky it is a quick recovery. I am happy with the fact they’ve only clipped them as I feel I still could have the option to reverse this in the future (I will probably never do that but just in case...) We have been trying for a baby for about 6 years before we looked into it; on the first cycle we had 18 eggs of which only 3 I believe got to blastocyst stage, 1 fresh transferred, 1 frozen transferred and the last one did not survive the thawing process. 2nd time we had 12 eggs, 4 got to blastocyst stage, 1 fresh transfer failed, 1 frozen transfer failed, 1 frozen transfer in progress and hopefully we will have on left in case this will be a negative again. Again, I think it’s the quality and not the quantity....Sorry I cannot share more positive story but soon hopefully! Do you have the dates for you operation? Xx
I really hope this frozen transfer is a success and you get a bfp!!! Let's hope the 1 left over is for a sibling in the future.
I havent got a date for my surgery as of yet.. as I've been going in for scans every 2 days to check my dose on stims which have been increased so my collection will be next week some time I'll be finding out at my last scan tomorrow. Once I've had collection I can pester and nag them to book my consultantation even thou on Friday I was nagging my consultant to book me in so I can focus on that straight after collection.
I just hope I dont have to wait to long.
That's a good point I didnt realise if you have your tubes clipped it can be reversed. I need to find out all the pros & cons to this procedure. I think my surgey will be removal of endo aswel as tube.
Have you had your transfer yet? Xxx wishing u all the best x
I’ve had both tubes removed due to ectopic pregnancies - recovery time was pretty quick physically - I had my last tube removed at the end of the July and did an egg collection/transfer in the September so about 8 weeks
Oh wooow.. that's very fast!!! Woow. That's so good to hear, I hope I dont have to wait to long for a appointment with consultant n then my surgery I just want it over with. How was your egg collection, did u get a good amount of embryos xxxx
It wasn’t great to be honest that round. I got 14 eggs and PGS tested the blastocysts and all abnormal/mosaic. I subsequently Changed to natural modified IVF a couple of Months later focussing on just 2 eggs and am pregnant with twins
I don’t have personal experience to share but a close friend of mine had the same issue with fluid appearing after starting her first round of IVF. She continued the cycle, had her surgery afterwards where they actually found cysts on both tubes so they were removed. She had a successful frozen transfer 4 months after her surgery xx
Thank you for sharing your friends story that's definately lightened my feelings towards the whole situation. I'm just waiting for my egg collection which I will find out on tommorows scan if I'm close to ready. Which i think i am as I've been stimming for 9 days so far. And bloated as anything, is there any tips that you can reccomend on helping quality to the lead upto egg collection. Like I dont know if pomegranate juice is a good idea as I know that's good for lining. Etc... but wonderful news your friend has a successful transfer after 4months. Thank u for sharing 4 this story 😘😘😘 xxx
Ahhhh thank you so much! I’m only four weeks from my due date now so starting to get to the uncomfortable stage 🥴😂
My best advice is to not get too hung up on what you eat and don’t eat, listen to your body and relax because that’s far better for you than any special diet or superfoods. Wishing you all the best of luck for your egg collection, I’m sure you’ll get some beautiful embryos 🥰 xx
Congratulations... & that's wonderful only 4 weeks away. How was nesting period? How does it feel that u finally reaching the last 4 weeks? X
I know your right I should just focus on what my body wants. I hope I get some beautiful embryos too. That way I can then focus on surgery. Thank you for reaching out to me, really appreciate it 😘 wish your labour goes smoothly & easy hun x
Hey, I have endo and had hydroslphinx on my left tube. I had it removed in Xmas eve. Recovery was okay started back at work reduced hours 7 days after my op. Didn’t feel 100% for a few weeks after but I’m not great with the whole trauma of surgery.
I had a lap done 12weeks before to confirm the above diagnosis I felt really bad after that as they really go in and look at everything definitely felt like I had been hit by a bus.
Can’t give you any uplifting stories but all I can do is empathises with your pain, frustration and sadness. Such a hard thing to deal with but your not alone. Sending love and positive vibes in your journey ✨🤞🏼 xxx
Xmas eve you had your operation done, must of been have for u to enjoy the festive period.
So they did a laproscopy on u 12 weeks before they did your op to remove the hydrosalphinx and endo? Did they remove your tube or clip it??
I can imagine u felt dreadful afterwards, my thoughts are they will take a good look around everywhere just to be sure n safe which means a longer recovery time. How have your period been since you have had everything removed?
Did your period take slightly longer to arrive, due to the removal or did it come bang on time after op?
Yes that’s right they did my diagnosed lap 12 weeks before they removed my hydrosalphinx and my active endo.
My periods has mostly been completely on time apart from a couple of months during lockdown my cycles have really short, they have now returned to normal.
