Norethisterone

The consultant called same day and said fine to start norethisterone but that I needed to come in for a scan on day 1 of my period before starting oestrogen. I took the norethisterone for 7 days from 30th Jan and then came on my period yesterday 9th Feb.

Im on norethisterone 10 mg 2 per day. This tablet affect liver function test report? Any one took birth control pill for above 6 years continuously?. Thank you

I was prescribed norethisterone (5mg 1 tablet 3 times a day for 10 days) and took my last pill on Saturday night and it is now Wednesday and I have not started bleeding yet.

I started Norethisterone on the 9th and am due to continue to the 20th Jan ahead of the base line scan on the 24th. I don't remember feeling any side effects last year on this medication, but this time I am feeling emotions way more strongly - largely irritation and anger.

Hi, hope youre all OKIm travelling soon just for 4 days and was wondering if I should take norethisterone (primolut) to stop heavy period and pain whilst away. Worried about not finding toilets in time and having to change pad every 1-2 hours. Also the pain!

Dr said period would come within 4 to 5 days gave me norethisterone for 7days . I didn't use this as uses of this med on leaflet were totally different . In the previous egg retrieval my period was 18 days late .

I was prescribed Norethisterone and Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. I last bled on 3rd January and haven't bled again since, so nearly 7 weeks. I have taken pregnancy tests for the last couple of weeks and they are negative. Anyone had a similar experience and how do I get my periods back?

It seems it's not doing much so the next step is to try norethisterone. But I've never heard of it. Thought would ask if any of you ladies have had experience with using this as a form of HRT at all? What was your experience?

After 55 days I was put on norethisterone and started my period, so I could begin stims. After that unsuccessful round I had a withdrawal bleed but now my period hasn’t come again. Has anyone any experience of their periods stopping as a result of all the medication?

I’m planning for embryo banking cycles in the new year. Unfortunately my DH is likely to need to be away for work in the early part of the year - it’s his most profitable time. And I don’t want to delay given I’ll be over 38 in early 2025. So just thinking about using something to delay period and

I’ve always been prescribed provera or norethisterone before to schedule my bleed so have no true experience of a natural start. I’ve also had tostran and DHEA priming previously though obviously they don’t really alter how you start.

Therefore, I took norethisterone for two weeks this month, three times a day, hoping that my period would start soon after stopping the medication. This way, my period would be over before my vacation.

Either take norethisterone and see how that goes or surgery for excision. I want a family and he said some women can conceive naturally and others need help. I just wondered what other people’s experience was of norethisterone. thank you .

In my previous cycles, I’ve taken Norethisterone from about day 21 to extend my natural cycle as needed. Then had a bleed about 3 days after stopping. That’s then been day 1 of my cycle and baseline scan and meds have gone from there.

I took norethisterone as prescribed 3 times a day for like 13 days or something. My last pill was Sunday, today is Wed and still got no bleed? I called my nurse already and she is not worried, as she mentioned bleeding happens within 3-5days.

I am currently on norethisterone with egg retrieval provisionally for 1st Nov. We had a 30min chat with a nutritionist yesterday which was included in our treatment and it was good.

Our first cycle we had downregulation with norethisterone but it gave me horrendous side effects which required me to stop working. My response to stims was slow to begin and not wonderful, 5 eggs, of which 4 were mature.

I have been prescribed tranexamic acid and Norethisterone to ease blood flow. I have no idea which one to take. I’m also taking strong cocodomol when I’m experiencing bad pain.

Last cycle had down regulation with norethisterone, which caused huge mood swings. This cycle I have not so I know more of how I'm feeling. I had my first injection at 7 pm and just felt very soon after a huge wave of irritability?! Is this my imagination or....?

Basically I had 11 days of Norethisterone, then after the bleed I started Meriofert 300mg daily then on the fifth day of taking Meriofert I started Ganirelix 25mg in the mornings too. I am due to have a blood test and scan on Monday 26th August, with potential egg collection on Wednesday 28th.
