Miserable Negative....

So, my first FET cycle has failed. 26 years old, very mild PCOS but manage to ovulate naturally every month and I had 6 good blasts and the first one (the one we used in this cycle) was a Grade 5a so gutted is an understatement.

All I had to do was tell clinic when I had my LH surge then they booked the transfer in for 7 days later. Transfer day went well. No issues. AF appeared yesterday (11dp5dt) and I knew straight away.

The most frustrating experience ever. I've never been pregnant before so it makes me ask myself so many questions. Statistics tell me I have a good chance but it will either work or it wont. Dont think it matters too much. You could have a poorly graded embryo and it work or other issues and it work.

Will be letting the clinic know Monday and see where we go from here. I think under guidelines I have up to two frozen replacements so I hope I'm correct! Not sure if protocol will change? I only took 8% crinone gel once a night. Literally no other drugs. We tried a medicated protocol the other month with buserelin followed by oestrogen but cycle was cancelled because lining wouldnt get past 5.5. So when doctor monitored me the next month naturally it grew to 8.5.

Anyone in similar boat? Anyone gone through a few FETs before geting a positive?

Hi Crystal I am sorry to hear of your negative result this time, I was reading the part about your womb lining, and was wondering if the Doctors have told you any reasons for your lining to be 5.5 and 8.5. The clinic I am with told me anything over 7mm thickness Is good and it maybe that your womb lining might not be getting thick enough to support your embryos I don't know but I would be asking about this, as If any improvements could be made with your lining might just be your anwser as like you say your embryos are great quality and I doubt with you having a lot of them frozen, one of those should work. My womb lining was 12mm in in all my scans so far so im wondering if that for you could be a reason. x

Hi Danielle, when it wouldnt get past 5.5 in the medicated cycle she said sometimes theres no reason for this - She even put me on the HRT patches but nothing made my womb thicker. I personally think I didnt need buserelin to shut me down because it shut me down and thinned my womb lining so much that when I had to suddenly create a good lining my body wouldnt co-operate. The 8.5 was during natural monitoring the month after she said anything over 7mm is fine. I hear you can have too thick of a lining so I'm sure people are told different things?! Also I started the crinone gel a day after ovulation right up until transfer and then afterwards. When I speak with the clinic I wll let you know what they say x

Have you had anything checked for this such as a hysteroscopy to take a look inside you womb as they can see the womb lining that way. It just seems to me its more to do with your lining then your embryos, how many transfers have you had so far?

Yes I had that, no issues. Bloody hurt too! The only issue is male side and thats something to do with how he liquifys. Bloods good. AMH good. I just had the one transferred, they didnt advise me to have two but im thinking next time to have two. They told me two wont increase the chances but will increase a multiple. On the other hand they said its best to do one at a time because then at least you can try different protocols between them. When you due for your op?

Im having the hysteroscopy and Laparoscopy together under general Anaesthetic so I should not feel anything while im asleep, 5 weeks im having it so not to far away now, ive been waiting since the 30th of January though. My clinic said I could have 2 frozen transferred if I wanted but I had to think about twins but I think your right, by having one transferred is more sensible. Its a shame you have to go through IVF because of such a minor issue but hey sometimes minor issues is enough to stop you from conceiving :( Ive got tubal factor infertility, I got pregnant when I was 20 but it grew in my left tube and had to have the tube removed and at the time my right one was found blocked full of fluid, I asked my clinic why the Doctor just didn't remove the other tube and she said because the swollen tube was or is just small so I requested for them to take it out now before I do any more transfers, im just deleting and potential risks to are embryos and do hope it helps.

It's all the waiting isnt it. I didnt intend on devoting all my thoughts on this but once you start this game its always in the back of your mind its draining! Glad I started trying when I did. I've been trying since I was 23 so only 3 years I just don't know how people cope with anything longer. You gonna do natural or medicated FET after? Thing is I have never been pregnant before at all so right now I'm blaming myself for the poor embryo not making it!

Im going to do the natural frozen transfer as I have regular periods each month, 28 day cycles. so I normally ovulate on day 14 so they will just pop the embryo in 5 days after that with our embryos been frozen on day 5 and 6. It is draining and waiting and wondering whats going to happen. I was going to start IVF when I was 21 but I was not really ready then, I am now 29, 30 in 2 weeks so still young. I don't think its anyones fault why the embryos don't implant, its just a matter of finding the gold one I think. x
