I have suffered with uncontrollable hormones since puberty. I have been on Cerazette since I was 14 years old. This stopped me having periods. In October 2010 I was having severe lower abdominal cramps, so I went to see my GP. He had a scan arranged within weeks for me and told me to come off my pill, as he wanted me to have a period.
My scan results came back to confirmed I had cysts on my ovaries. My doctor told me to stay off my pill. I then fell pregnant several months later. Unfortunately, 8 weeks after I found out, I suffered with a miscarriage.
The pain didn't really ease, so I was just taking painkillers and getting on with my life. Unhappy with my GP I moved and I had a consultation about the pain. I had another scan and bloods taken which confirmed I had PCOS. I was using condoms as contraception but found I was bleeding after sex and found intercourse very painful.
I had smears since I became sexually active as my mother had cervical cancer and my great grandmother died of ovarian cancer. My smear came back abnormal, I then had another one in six months which also came back abnormal. I avoided sex as much as I could which put a strain on me and my partners relationship.
I was referred to colposcopy and had the cells burned off. After a few months I was still bleeding after intercourse and still found it painful. My GP told me I had IBS but still referred me back to colposcopy. They also said I had IBS which left me feeling very embarrassed with the whole situation.
A week later which was November 2012. I was called into a specialist Gynaecologist, she confirmed I had Endometriosis. I had the Mirena a coil fitted in January 2013, they told me the pain would settle down within 6 weeks. In February I was rushed into Emergency care centre. With sever pain and bleeding. Fears were that my coil had moved but it was still in place. I was given stronger pain killer and some tablets which reduced my bleeding.
3 weeks ago, I passed out in work with sever pain and got rushed to the local hospital. Fears again of my coil moving. I had several scans in my time in hospital. It was just my Endometriosis becoming severe.
I am now taking voltarol as a suppository. It is the best pain relief i have ever had. Better than the morphine I was receiving in hospital. I am also having a hormone injection. Called Zoladex which stops the brain sending signal to my ovaries to make them stop producing estrogen. This gives me symptom of hot flushes and leg agitation in the evening. I will keep everyone updated on how the Zoladex works for me.
