Voltarol

Not responding to max dose of paracetamol + dihydrocodeine plus voltarol. Phoned physio at GP surgery (being treated for lumbar compression fracture) who says it sounds like PMR flare (no GCA symptoms atm) and to phone rheumy at hospital. Helpline not responding.

Paracetamol and voltarol help a bit, but only marginally. I assume it's connected to PMR as the muscles are the problem, but am I right in assuming more Pred wouldn't help? I'm reluctant to risk adrenal problems at this level unless it might.

Is it considered ok to use Voltarol cream when taking Pred? I am confused as to whether it's an NSAID. I am hoping to use it on what is supposedly an artritic knee joint.

Interestingly, whilst recently in Australia, I asked a Pharmacist if he had anything he could give me to ease the pain, he suggested mixing Deep Heat and Voltarol together and rubbing that into the hand, although it has not stopped the pain completely, it has reduced the area of pain to the region of

I take 8 Paracetamol a day, and Voltarol Max, to have instant help. I have asked my GP if there is anything different to try, the answer was no. Although I am.

Buying 4% lidocaine gel and using it as a topical gel like voltarol? Would this work? Looking at an infusion. I saw a consultant privately and he recommended a steroid injection but I have several areas that would need injecting so not really an option unless my lottery numbers come up tonight!

She told me to try Voltarol twice a day. I have done this for a few days and it has made no difference. I do not think this is the beginning of GCA but I wondered if anyone has any advice.

struggling quite alot with muscle and joint pains i am due ultrasound scans on both hips plus my right shoulder this month i cant sleep due to pain sick of feeling exhausted and downhearted i have severe acid reflux and ibs so cant take antinflamatory medications so just relying on paracetamol and voltarol

I tried that, Paracetamol and I used Voltarol a couple of days too but the pain persists and I can’t walk properly, I limp. I will continue with the ice packs but would a little burst of extra preds help.

Would hot/ cold compress, ot voltarol cream be useful do you think? Stretching exercises...or likely to make it worse. All suggestions, or similar experiences welcome. Thank you.

I assume the muscle pains are the result of pmr weakness, but not actually pmr, so maybe the answer is rest, paracetamol and voltarol. I also guess I'm someone for whom pred only works partially. I have a demanding trip coming up in August, and had thought of using the warm (ha!)

She currently takes paracetamol, voltarol /naproxen. However, they seem to be of limited help. Could anyone share with me succesful experiences with pain killers? I am considering taking her to a pain clinic but not sure how to find one specifically focused on endometriosis/pelvic pain.

I did take a couple of Co-codamol and rubbed Voltarol into the usually bad achy parts too.

I am 2 1/2 years into PMR and have been doing great. Now at 1.75 mg of prednisone. My orthopedist has suggested I try voltaren on a toe that shows arthritis and has some pain/discomfort if I have any elevation on the heels of shoes. It’s a gel that is to be applied twice a day…with, hopefully some relief

What can I do for this other than rub voltarol and take paracetomol? I’m on 2 steroids a day (for poly myalgia). Thank you

Hi - started at 20 after diagnosis in January of 24 and my reductions were as follows - each after 4 weeks and a rheumy visit 20 -15 -12.5 -10 - 7.5 -6.25 -5– 4.5-4 and most recently to 3.5. When I went to 4 I noticed a bit of hand swelling and loss of grip strength. Now at 3.5 I notice it a lot.

Popping co codamol and rubbing voltarol into my knees and back. My skin is constantly dry and my fingers feel swollen. My lips are dry and cracked too, hoarse voice, sound like I have a cold coming.

Spoke to doctor in A&E she advised not to take Naproxen because I am taking Prednisolone and it could cause stomach bleed and to use Voltarol which really is having very little effect. I presume Naproxen would be more effective for inflammation.

my question is whether it'd be ok to rub Voltarol (diclofenac 2.32%) onto back as used it before my ckd and it really helps. i know NSAID tablets are a big no no but wondered whether gel form would be ok ? thanks in advance Dan
