I desperately need advice and recommendations for a combined HRT for endo plus menopause symptoms post hysterectomy. Menopause symptoms have been brutal and I feel so overwhelmed.
I am 46, never had children, struggled with stage 4 DIE endo, adeno, ovarian cysts. I am currently in menopause hell after my hysterectomy and endo excision surgery 3 months ago.
My GP is not helpful as he is not trained in menopause. I am waiting to get into a menopause specialist clinic but a long wait list. My gynae surgeon is a great surgeon, but not helpful on hrt. He recommended Tribolone, a synthetic hrt . I have concerns after reading many negative feedbacks here.
From other posts, it seems a combined HRT, estrogen and progesterone, possibly added testosterone could be the optimal solution? Utrogestan , a progesterone, was mentioned many times here so I am looking into getting started on this. A low dosage of estrogen is needed. What brand and dosage would be a good starting point? Any testosterone added to this?
Do you take other non-hormonal treatments, like vitamins or herbal supplements for menopause relief.
Thanks so much for your replies and suppport!

You have so got this I am 10 weeks post op of same procedure but was blessed to have a renowned surgeon.
He has put me know 100mg eviroel patch, 1 utrogesan capsule each night and daily testerone 1/4 satchet. Minimum 2 years to help ease any remaining endo. I had the full mothership of surgery, full hysterectomy, two bowel resection and appendix removal.
Don't ask gp, politely tell or pay fkre a private gyny appt to get your prescription.
Also use food and exceercise to help.manage symptoms, makes a big difference.
Hi Nicky. Thanks so much for your response and kind advice! 🙏💓Sounds like you went through alot with endo aswell. Hope your post op recovery is going smoothly.
What strength of the Evorel patches are you on? 25 or 50. Have you tried the gel version, Estrogel? For the utrogestan, 100mg capsules right? Testosterone is 1% strength satchels?
Here’s some links to various research and info that I have found very helpful. I have found Utrogestan to be very helpful in easing my symptoms. It did give me a bit of a flare to start with but once that calmed it did really help. I still have symptoms but far more manageable. Everyone has slightly different needs but hopefully you’ll find something helpful within the links below. I found the doctors to not be very helpful and have had to do lots of research and work it out for myself, then ask them to tweak my medication. Initially they kept trying to up the estrogen, however for me I found that upping the progesterone and lowering the estrogen worked better. It can be hard to find what’s right for you but do lots of research and go with what feels right for your body.
Thanks so much for your fast and detailed response! It is hopeful hearing how effective Utrogestan has worked for you. I have decided not to pursue Tibolone as it is all synthetic hormones which will have more side effects. I think the combined Utrogestan and estrogen therapy will be my approach.
Thank you for these links! I will definitely have a good read and do more research as you suggested. I found your comment on the limited role of doctors and utilising them to tweak and adjust medications especially helpful as it is also the reality I am faced with.
Thank you again for taking out time to help me. I greatly appreciate it!
