Anyone any advice taking Tibolone after 1st injection of Prostap?

Had my 1st injection in February for endometriosis and PMD but severe form called PMDD. I was normal for 2 weeks and 2 weeks before my period, I turned into a horrible human, such as anger, debilitating anxiety, extreme low mood, thought of suicide. It had seriously put serious strains on my relationship. Then when my period arrived the unstable emotional state would dissappear, severe period cramps for 3 days.

I was given Utrogestan capsules 100mg & Oestrogel Pump and was having terrible side effects, mentally and physically.

I did not go for my 2nd injection due to having to leave the country for personal issues and when I came back they discharged from gynecology.

I relocated to another city and was fortunate that the prescription was still there and I did not have to wait years to see a gynecologist.

However, they give me the Tibolone tablets instead of the other HRT.

I am concerned about this tablet as side effects state weight gain, blood clots and breast cancer. I did ask for my original HTR, but due to a different location this was there first choice of HRT.

Since I had my injection, I have been taking Tibolone daily.

Has anyone had similar experiences?.Is Tibolone the best choice for HRT.

When I had my injection in February and the gel and Utrogestan tablet. It was horrendous, but to be fair I did not give it a chance, as inly had one injection.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks 😊

myself, I have not taken tibolone; however, I’m recovering from a total hysterectomy and have been discussing HRT options with family members and medical staff. My sister in law was on Tibolone for over 20 years and fully recommends it. My endo nurse and consultant both praise it. But with this in mind, we are all unique and special and need to try some things to see whether or not they work for us.

I hope you get some relief soon. 🌺

Hallo! I’m a long term Zoladex user (similar to Prostap) and have been taking Tibolone alongside it. Both have been absolutely fine for me.

As mentioned, we’re all different and the only way to find out if it works is to try it for a few months. If you don’t get on with it you can stop.
