Yesterday I had my first gynocology appointment after being on the waiting list for 4 years, they have now put me on the waiting list for a Laproscopy which could take 12 months.
They have prescribed me Tibolone as well as a nasal spray to help with my symptoms whilst I wait for the lap
The question I have is with the Tibolone the doctor mentioned an injection, however did not state when I'd have an appointment to get it administered nor was I prescribed it on the day with the Tibolone. After reading up online it says not to take Tibolone unless you've had the injection but my gyno docto said to start taking them now even though I have no idea when I'll have my first injection.
Has anyone else experienced something like this? Do you know how long after the appointment you have the injection?
I decided to follow the advice and start taking Tibolone now, however the online information about the drug is worrying me due to not taking it in unison with the injection.
Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Glad you have been seen and are now at last in the system. See if you can speak to the gynaecologist secretary, they can ask the consultant and get back to you. Tibilone is hrt so safe alone in that way but the injections are for period help so hrt won’t do anything alone. The injections are administered at the GP surgery , it could be he will write to them and they contact you to make an appointment. Either way I personally would chase it up for clarification. I had these treatments many times. Best of luck.
Hi you'll have your first injection by the consultant usually then the others at the GP surgery and as others mentioned Tibolone is a very low dose of HRT so it's safe and it's good that they've given you add back HRT
Good and you understand it puts you into chemical menopause and all that brings. You will be taking Tibolone but that's a very low dose of HRT. Can I ask what the laprpscopy is for? You are usually given zoladex before a hysterectomy.
Yes I do, I'm alware you have it before a hysterectomy as my mum has the injection before hers. The consultant said it was for a diagnosis but also mentioned that my left ovary is extremely close to my uterus from my transvaginal ultrasound so I believe it's to do with that also x
