Desogestrel

Hi I was just wondering if anyone has had the mirena and been prescribed Desogestrel (progesterone only pill). If so what was your experience like with it ? As I’m still getting a lot of pain with the mirena and was advised this would be the best option.

hi all just after advice , I’m currently on Desogestrel which hasn’t agreed with me from the start ( I have only been taking it a month) I have migraines, abdominal pain and other endo symptoms. During sexual intercourse I bled very heavily which I have never experienced before .

Hello I'm just wanting some guidance or opinions on desogestrel pill if anyone has been on it for endometriosis or Adenomyosis to help with symptoms. I'm just a bit worried about my weight going up as I'm trying really hard to get it down and my skin turning on me. Thank you in advance 😁

I've been on desogestrel since my last appointment but recently the lower back/hip/tailbone pain is just getting worse and worse. I'm sat at home today on the verge on tears. I've tried yoga, hot baths, heat pads, ice, etc. Nothing is giving me any relief.

Hi all, I’ve been suffering with pain for years at first I thought it was back related pain from having my children but after lots of tests they’ve found endometriosis in my pelvic ligaments, I’m currently on a waiting list for surgery and I’m taking double desogestrel tablets and strong painkillers

I’m still having heavy periods each month on the Desogestrel/Cerazette and wondering if it’s worth trying Noriday. I’ve tried the Depo injections, Norgeston too.

Hi everyone I'm new here, sorry if this seems like a bit of an essay - I am after some advice about desogestrel. I have been on desogestrel for almost 10 months now (8 months at double dose). It's not been an easy ride, constant bleeding everyday (very heavy to start with).

She has been managing her menstrual symptoms with desogestrel. she has since been referred to colorectal and had a mri without any bowel prep or contrast and they diagnosed her with a fistula.

Since my last period, back in July (I’m now on a double dose of Desogestrel, which seems to have stopped the bleeding) I’ve had persistent pain in my lower left pelvis (it used to be just during, and the week after my period) and left groin and hip.

Im bleeding daily - very lightly whilst taking this pill (this has unfortunately been normal for me since reintroducing hormonal contraceptives) but I expected a significant ‘period’ type bleed on the break (which previously occurred with desogestrel and Microgynon) but I’m still just seeing the same

A couple of years back owing to becoming a laydee of a certain age, I was prescribed desogestrel (a progesterone only pill) to keep my hormones levels stable. I had found they were dipping regularly and my dose hadn’t changed.

After the second time in A&E I was referred for a scan and given desogestrel to see if that had any affect.

She's currently taking 2 Desogestrel per day to stop her periods and is reluctant to swap as she ends up throwing up with pain when she has her period. What experience have others had? I've heard mixed.

Back in March, the GP prescribed desogestrel which just caused daily bleeding. My period never stopped and it made my anemia worse. After a flood I was prescribed tranexamic acid which didn't touch the sides. I went to see a consultant and he prescribed norethisterone.

Hi I’ve been on Desogestrel for the past 5 months via Gynae consultant whilst I wait for an mri and possible lap. I’ve had irregular bleeding and still having periods on the Desogestrel and I’m wanting to try something else now.

Previously I was taking desogestrel back to back no break to stop ovulation. To say this didn’t agree with me would be an understatement, I bled every day and felt pretty much suicidal. Even though it did help with the daily pain/pain down my legs.
