Double dose of Micronor (pill).

Hi Ladies,

i have already asked this question a month or two ago, but I'm now getting desperate and can't seem to find any information online.

I have seen a Gynae and had an internal ultrasound which has found echoes of what looks like endometriosis. My gynaecologist has now advised me to double my dose of micronor as i had previously done this to stop my awful period pains.

Since doubling my dose again (its been about a month), i have noticed i have absolutely no energy or motivation, my mood swings are terrible, and i am having a lot of tummy pain but no bleeding. Sometimes the pain is just an annoying dull ache, and others its very painful in the left side of my groin.

My follow up appointment with my gynae isn't until April now, and I'm just wondering whether to carry on doubling the micronor until i see him again, and putting up with the pain, or going back to just one pill and having really painful periods every 2 weeks.

Really just need some advice right now.

Thanks,

Emma xx

Hi I had to double up on pills I was one microgynon and 4 norgeston every night! It was awful created PMT anger constantly, greasy skin, acne tired all time felt down constantly! My only warning would be I got chronic erosion on cervix from it had it treated twice but still didnt correct it! I had op Dec I had 5 weeks of it being ok then had to have examination of cervix and bang that was enough to start it so back to square one with it! They told me pill causes it and I had been doubling up for 2 years on gyne advice. It did help lighter period but eventually pain caught up with me and had to have surgery as when on my pill free week got bowel pain I cant even explain the pain any way it had still grown. Just be careful all these hormone aren't always good for us although I can see why you been told to double up witht he pain and waiting for hospital appts good luck let us know how you get on :)

Oh wow that sounds like you had such a horrible experience on them! I really can't tell if it is definitely doubling up that's making me have all these extra symptoms but I do know that it's really driving me insane now! Going to give it another month and see. Thank you :) x

Hi

I have the mirena and also take double micronor too. This stops practically all bleeding although i get a slight show on occasions. I still suffer awful cramps low back and thigh pains regularly. My gynae told me that doubling up is safe on the pop as no oestrogen in. This treatment has without a doubt been the best for me and i got my life back to a certain extent. Its not perfect though And endo has a way of rearing its ugly head still but it lessens it and will hopefully see me through menopause. Hope you feel better and things settle down soon for you x

Hey, it's nice to find someone else who is doubling up as I was really sure I was the only one! I'm still having constant pains aswel as horrendous mood swings, but I'm just going to carry on and see if it does die down. Thanks :) x

Hi. Emma louise. Me too! Never heard of anyone on x2 micronor. My gynae says even 3 is ok. I decided that i got pain with or without periods and without periods is much better! So i have been on x2 for 3 years. Stick with it and take care x
