I'm reaching out for advice. I've had Endo for years now. 4 Laparoscopy surgeries. The last one they removed my left ovary. For the past 7 months I've experienced chronic pelvic and back pain. I've also have recurring discharge, no odour light yellow in colour. The doctors are baffled! I'm 57 now and after the usual trying to get my GP to help they sent me for a colonoscopy as I have microscopic colitis. I told them the pain wasn't related to that but went to rule it out. All clear from the biopsies as I suspected. Then back to the GP who sent me for an ultrasound and internal ultrasound. Again all clear again as I suspected. I called the surgery again as the pain makes me double up and I'm struggling to work and do other things. I asked the doc to refer me to the Endo consultant. He just kept saying at my age it won't be Endo. He reluctantly referred me and I'm waiting for an appointment. I'm beyond fed up with it all. My question is can I still be suffering with Endo at my age? No longer having periods? I'm so sad 😞

Hi Capi66 thanks for your post, I am so sorry you are being given the 'run around'. I am NOT a trained proffesional, but my understanding is that you could still experience its symptoms post menopause. I have provided a link below to our Endo website which gives a better explanation as to why this can be the case:

Please keep in touch with us as your story is very interesting and we are here to support you 💚
Hi l am pleased you have supported this query, l am 77 years of age and my reply to Capi66 is below yours. Thank you for this site which l visit frequently as many contributors here have helped me through my journey, Alexa 🌸🌸
Hi, l don’t totally know your circumstances, but l have within the last 5 months had 2 lap surgeries, the first to remove ovarian cyst, both ovaries and both fallopian tubes. The most recent one was 6 weeks ago to complete the hysterectomy when l was found to have 1.9cm endo and a tumour infiltrating the endo.
I do no want to alarm you, l am 77 and my first consultant treated it as a trivial case although l was having vaginal haemorrhages for about 4 days out of every 10 or so. At their worst l was changing within 2 hours right round the day and night.
I hope you get with a consultant who will take the time to listen to you, please keep a daily diary of all your symptoms and take this with you to your consultations along with a list of any and all questions you want to ask.
Hope you soon get the answers and solutions you are longing for.

Oh wow! Thank you so much for this info. What a terrible time you have had. It just shows that doctors don't know everything. I need to keep pushing. Thank you so much for your support! Endo is a terrible condition, so debilitating. It ruins so many women's lives. I will be armed with my info when I see the consultant. Thank you and take care xxx
Much love to you both 🌈
hi Capi if you want to offload your thoughts again l pop in here at least twice a week. Have myself had many helpful hints been given.
My biggest worry is that some consultants SEEM to be saying that women over a certain age cannot suffer endo and its subsequent effects on their general health. Take care
