Did you get back and rib pain after lap?I had lap on wed to remove a large cyst and my right ovary ( that's all that was left, I had uterus, tubes left ovary, appendix and a lot of endometriosis romoved 4 years ago)
It was a bigger op than expected, I had an endometriosis adhesion sticking the cyst to my urethra and everything was all twisted up.
I know it's only been a few days but I'm struggling to control the pain, painkillers lessen my tummy pains but I have severe pain around my right lower back and ribs that painkillers don't seem to touch. Anyone else experienced this? it driving me insane.
I'm taking 60mg of codine 4 times a day along with ibuprofen and paracetamol.
Any ideas or anyone been through it, I can't understand why my back and ribs hurt the most.
Thank you so much

Hello, sorry to hear of your pain. I'm wondering is it possible to be gas related pain? Peppermint oil or tea is usually good for this. I didn't have gas pain with mine but i heard it can be very painful worse than other parts of the op. Do you know if you had any of your diaphragm operated on? If you have a fever or feel nauseated i recommemd phoning your gp or hospital nurse for further advice💛
I know this may be unhelpful but i hope you feel better soon
I had a couple of really rough days with a slight fever, spoke to GP and hospital got lots more painkillers. I did start to feel sick, I got stuck in a cycle of not wanting to eat or drink which I think was making everything worse.I turned a corner yesterday, drank loads had a couple of small things to eat.
Still in pain but not feeling half as rubbish, waiting to start HRT now, hoping that will make me feel amazing!
Could be a UTI from the catheter in your kidneys. If it’s not better by the time the gas pain should have have gone - or if you get a fever - call emergency gynae. They’ll give you a UTI test as routine.
Thanks for your reply, I've only just got the brain power to write back! As I said in reply above I did speak to hospital and Gp, got more painkillers.I did get a slight fever but they though that was my body healing and it's normal now. Hope it stays that way! It's a pain if you get fever now, they said they couldn't give me a checkup with sight temperature as I'd be a covid risk and if I get worse it would have to be a&e.
