Wanted to ask if anyone has had post op Ileus and what recovery was like?
I had Lap on Saturday and had stage 4 endo excised a lot on bladder, bowl, unsticking of adhesions removal of cysts. Surgery went well and was recovering ok until early hours of Tuesday morning when I was extremely sick. Having another condition called Addisons means if I’m sick I need a&e treatment quickly I thought it was just the pain medication causing sickness but turned out to be Ileus and my bowels had stoped working completely. After 24 hours of a tube draining my stomach and nil by mouth I started to feel better however still in hospital and Having treatment to clear blockage. My consultant said this is rare with Laos and I wanted to see if anyone has experienced this and how long it took to recover
Thanks

Hi, don’t have an answer to ur question but need your help and advise
Three weeks ago I had surgery stage four as well was spread to bladder and bowel everything was stuck together all went well . Put Merina thinking it was enough then doctor told me he’s starting me in two weeks in zoladex . What medication and treatment have they given u after surgery to prevent it from coming back. I’m so scared nervous depressed and shocked had no symptoms at all except but of brown discharge x
I have been put on prostap injection and then tibolone which is hrt. I think prostap is similar to zoladex. I’ll be on it it for 6 month in total I had 1 month prior to surgery to switch it all off and Now to give everything chance to heal and rest.
I have been trying for baby for a long time so don’t want to go on contraceptive options but I do know that long term they can help. Once I have finished prostap we will try for 6 months If nothing then either fertility treatment or something like Merine to manage long term.
I would recommend discussing with consultant why you are having both and what the plan is long term so you can understand the reason why. They aren’t always good and explaining what they are doing.
I am 42 lol ( too old)😂I’ve had two kids thank god don’t know how I’ve had them and have stage four. Maybe started after god knows they can’t tell me. So he put me on Merina and now wants me to take zoladex for six months to spread what’s left ( microscopic ones that he couldn’t see) he’s trying everything before he suggests hysterectomy so nervous about zoladex and side effects and everything else
I have had some side effects from prostap but the hrt is helping now.
My bestie is 32 and had hysterectomy in January This year for same reasons however she still has small endo on her bowel which causes her pain every day still. Hysterectomy isn’t a cure but can help it depends where it is and the pain your in. She was Debilitated for 3 years and still struggles but not as bad.
