12 days post op

Hi guys had to make a new account on here, but back hope your all well. So I'm 12 days post op what a journey from having my abdominal hysterectomy had the remainder of my stitches removed today. Iv got this constant horrendus abdominal pressure almost as if there's something bearing down on my cervix, (which was left) like I'm sitting on a ball. Opening my bowels has been agonising its fine in respect the the area of the scar as its not to much pressure or hurting there but again severe pressure as if something is bearing down on my cervix. I constantly have his feeling and even hurts inside my vagina when I sit down. Anyone else experienced this is having a real impact on my daily life. As for recovery I'm getting about a bit more around the house but this feeling of pressure I can't understand as I didn't have the hysterectomy through the vagina so why do I have a agonising feeling of pressure missed you all xx

It's awful a out of hours gp suggested to me about rectole prolapse and the symptoms I've been having are exactly the same. The pain is worse than before the hysterectomy I'm thinking what the hell have I done no pain around the scar at all just tenderness but all in side the vagina agonising pressure pain as if I'm ready to push out a baby xx it's where part of the bowel prolapse in to the vagina wall

in reply toAllthatGlitters

She said constipation lol so I tried the suppository opened my bowels still in agony. Iv just got regular paracetamol here for the pain I don't know what it is but feels like I'm full term pregnant in labour and have that awful pushing / bearing down sensation. Deffo do not need the toilet xxx

It's been a nightmare I had uniary retention after surgery so had to come home with a catheter in the district nurse wouldt come out to remove it and I could barely walk to get to them so had to remove it myself. Was treat 3x for uti with 3 different types of antibiotics, now been treat for constipation even thought I'd been taking laxitive since the day before my surgery. There like a bulge in my vagina sorry for the tmi on the inside, I can't open my bowels because I get excruciating pain in the top of my vagina, almost as if it's stuck there. Another doctor said to me it sounds like a rectole prolapse where the bowel extends in to the vagina wall which is exactly what I can feel. The pain is horrendus walking feels like something is going to come out my cervix and sitting is like I have a egg in between my legs. I wish ide never had it done xxx

Something really doesn’t sound right and I would get a second opinion and get a doctor to have a look at you down below. It’s all good and well then saying it’s this and that but if they don’t look how do they know for sure x

in reply toAllthatGlitters

I know as I say iv took 3x antibiotics iv took the laxitives there's a big bulge in my vagina and I'm in 2x as much pain as I was before surgery bearing in mind I got my self up and dressed 12 hours after being cut open all alone no help getting ready I should not be like this 12 days post op xxx

So glad to see your back

Sorry to hear your pain is still bad but glad to hear your scar is healing up nicely and your a bit more mobile.

Can't offer any advice on the symptoms your having at the moment but hopefully someone can relate to it. Have you tried taking some lactulose just to help things move along so your not pushing too much. I would imagine your muscles have still got a lot of recovering to do as do you. Take care

in reply toplotments

Yes iv took laxitive since the day before I went in for surgery and had pessary that did make me go but it's a feeling of heavyness in the vagina as if something is bearing down on my cervix. Xx

I'd give docs another ring tomorrow You need to know what's happening and how to deal with it.

Considering what you've been through the aftercare is awful

take care xx

I know I haven't been contacted by anyone since my surgery considering its major surgery..... Haven't even been given a follow up no histology report yet nothing. Iv took all the anti biotics and pessary but still in agony xx

The antibiotics wont be helping your bowel either get some natural yoghurt to eat or some probiotics to help restore digestive balance.

Aftercare from my lap was awful to..... kept in overnight but never told why and discharged without knowing what was done.... follow up appointment was a waste of time left me with more questions and felt like they were too rushed to explain things. I'm still waiting to see specialist for more surgery. I've requested my medical notes off my operation from hospital now so I can see what's going on. xx

That sounds awful, have you rung 111. Think I would run it by them just to see what they advised. I know it's a major operation and organs move around and find new positions so it might be normal healing but I would want to check. X

I think in your situation I’d be calling a new GP and making an appointment quickly, that sounds like prolapse and you also need stronger pains drugs to allow your body to rest and recover

Poor thing 😘 yes its hard

I think I had that pain you are describing for about 3 weeks i really toughr its the worst pain I have experienced.... going pee also!. It eventually went away slowly. I am almost 4 months post op and i sometimes get slight pains but nothing like the first 3 weeks.

Hang in there relax take your pain medication and cool the area that really makes a big difference. Try it 💓

in reply toAnna1511

Hey love, I can only describe it as a severe pressure. Although when I was examined today internally she did say my cervix is alot closer to the vagina opening. So I Dont know what that means. Wish ide just agreed to have had the cervix took now. And I'm struggling like he'll to open my bowels I'm not constipated at all but it's like it's stuck in my vagina. It's so hard to describe xxx
