Traumatic experience to say the least but no more injections haha!... They found endo (as we thought) burnt the majority off, inserted a coil and took a biopsy of my womb to test for cancer.
GOOD NEWS ✅ My fallopian tubes, womb and ovaries are fine! I’m FERTILE 🥳 .
I had a lot of morphine when I woke up so still feeling groggy so off to sleep, in agony still with the gas from the op - my ribs and collarbones, can’t even stand up without support 😒 and so so swollen!!!!

I can’t move without pain is this normal? Like can’t do nothing.. I got stuck in bed this morning my dad had to come and hold my arms and pull me out? xx
Morning, hope your OK. I would say this was normal. I'm 6 weeks post op for hysterectomy and nodules removed from pouch of douglas and belly button etc. It's the gas that will cause so much pain it is awful. I found it hurt more than the wounds. Try rennie deflatine they are quite good and I drunk lots or Peppermint tea. Really hard but try and keep moving arms etc to shift the gas. It may feel horrendous just now but does get easier. Unfortunately, I found no painkiller helped with this just hot water bottle and heat pad. I still feel the odd bit of gas and was told I would for a while. Hold in there it will pass. If it gets worse or you feel you need assistance I found it was better to see my local nurse at gp surgery who explained everything and checked me all over. I wish you all the best and plenty of rest xxxxx
Hi sorry for late reply, I was told to drink plenty of water but if you have trouble actually peeing or it stings and hurts you would probably need to go to your gp. It is normal to sting slightly due to the catheter and quite common to have a urine infection. Really dosent hurt to get checked out. I asked reception for a sample bottle and went into the toilet before the nurse called as they can also check this for you. I hope you are feeling more comfortable now xx
Hey just seen your other post. My bowels still aren't back to normal but this is also very normal my gynae told me. Plenty of veg, water and you may need a stool softener to help you along. Like the other ladies have said time is the healer and listen to your body please don't go by text book as everyone is different. Listen to your body and let it take over don't fight against it or feel you should be at a certain point of recovery. It is still early days for you. You will be very surprised how you feel in a week or two. Take care xxxxx
Hey, I’m surprised they burnt the endo as this isn’t an effective method, the best way is excision.
A hot water bottle or a wheat bag is helpful for the shoulder pains from the gas and I was in pain for a few days after the drugs wore off as the morphine made me high haha. It takes about a week or two for the swelling the go down put I found gently rubbing an ice pack around my stomach helped the swelling a lot xx
Congratulations on a super successful surgery!!! So happy they found it and treated and everythings sounding super positive for your future!!!
Please take it easy, focus on moving around and gently getting your posture back to normal. The slower you take it the less scar adhesions will form. You will be shocked at a massive improvement at 2 weeks, but everyone is different it could take 6 weeks before you are feeling normall again, and even then you might be tentative. Focus on gently moving around, gentle stretching and eating lightly and healthily.
Please dont worry about the method they used to remove the endo. They use different methods depending on where they find it and hows its affecting surrounding tissue. I've had stage 4 endo covering most of my reproductive organs and inside them, and my private consultant would only lazer as according to her excision can often damage the tissue the endo is on and microscopic endo would then take hold and youd be back with it sooner rather than later. If the endo was deep in a tissue, excision would be most effective.
Trust your surgeons but do ask questions at your follow up, especially whether it's worth going on things like the endometeosis diet to reduce inflammation in your body preventing reoccurance in the future.
All the best, please rest and keep positive. A few weeks you will feel fighting fit - aim for 2 weeks at a time. You only recover from your surgery one so take the time your body needs!
Hey lovely. I'm 1week 4days post opp my belly pain slightly eased off 8days in but I'm still suffering shoulder n back pain. Take it easy chick, recovery is fully 6-8weeks. Xxxx feel free to pm me if want any more advise ❤️❤️
Well done on finally getting the surgery done with! I feel your pain - I was exactly the same straight after surgery. The wind I was literally wimpering in my sleep my SO said .... and yes moving about was challenging.
I am 7 weeks post op tomorrow and I have literally started feeling better the last 10 days. I went back to work Monday but my swelling has only just subsided. I too had the Mirena fitted, severe stage 4 Endo and 6cm endometriosis removed aswell as being riddled in adhesions that they spent hours working.
One bit of advise I will leave you with. Take the time to be easy on yourself. I spent the first 3 weeks fighting what my body was telling me and as soon as I accepted I just needed to rest and do bits i started to feel so much better - rest well xxxx
Hi Paige, have you tried lactulose? I had my op on Monday. Fortunately I managed to pass a stool yesterday morning. I did ask my consultant this question when he came to see me after surgery. He said if I was struggling, take lactulose. Maybe you can ask your consultant or the nurse this question just to be on the safe side.
I managed to go because coffee has always made me go and prunes.
