I just wanted to jump on and say thank you to everyone who responded to my other posts. So I had my lap last Saturday and I’m not crazy! He found endo and also said I had adenomyosis.
I didn’t get much time with him afterwards and was pretty foggy on pain meds. He showed me a pictures which I was allowed to take a quick picture of on my phone but I have no idea what I’m looking at and have 2 months until next appt.
Post lap, how did you all feel? I’m still quite sore and the smallest walks wipe me out. Did you also feel any of your symptoms still? I’m still getting the knife like stabbing pain inside too.
Sorry for the long post!!

I am so glad you have answers, that feeling when you finally know u r not going mad or imagining these pains as suggested by drs is so good, even tho u don’t want endo at least it explains everything. Take time to heal, my last excision took months to feel better. Don’t rush it and go to gp if you need stronger pain relief. Did they remove it? Xx
Thank you. Yes he just said (from what I remember) that he found it in my pelvis and did excision. The GP has told me to come off my pain relief as still no bowel movements and it’s 7 days now. Feeling it without pain relief!
Ask your GP for something for constipation so you can take your pain meds or a different pain med. It is the codeine type pain meds that can cause constipation. You can probably get something for constipation from a pharmacy without a prescription. Whenever I have been in hospital they have wanted to give me meds for constipation when I went home, even when I didn’t want them! Surprised yours didn’t. Usually Lactulose or Fybogel, not sure what you can get over the counter.
I got a note saying excision of endometriosis excision, +/- ureterolysis? He did speak to me as I came round and said he’d found endo in my pelvis and adenomyosis. X
That is just a standard description of what you went in for rather than having any reference to what they did. The RCOG standards require that you were given a discharge note as below upon leaving which must also be sent to your GP):
STANDARD 56
The GP must receive an electronic discharge
summary within 24 hours of discharge or a
paper copy be issued within 24 hours.
Women should receive information about
their recovery and a copy of their discharge
summary before leaving the unit.
It is preferable that this is sent electronically and
I should phone and ask for it, giving this reference. If that fails you can apply for a copy of the lap report itself through a subject access request (SAR)
