Hey Everyone

I had my op in June where endo was removed from my womb and uterus. Recently I bleed during sex? It stops immediately after.. Is this normal?

Dear Paigelouisex

Probably best to get it checked out just to put your mind at rest. When I spoke to my surgeon about having sex again he advised me there may be a little bleeding due to where he removed endo. Was it your first time since your op or is it happening every time you have intercourse? Is it fresh blood? He also advised me to go on top so that I could guide/control the situation and to put my husband at ease that he wasn’t hurting me.

Hope this has helped.

Take care

Claire xx

I’m sure you will be ok. Sounds like you are stretching or irritating an area they have removed endo from. Try emailing your surgeon or specialist just to be on the safe side. I find I get a better response when I contact them via email xx

How can anybody remove endo from your uterus? Inside lining of the uterus is called endometrium and this is the normal site.

You can have endo removed from the external wall of the uterus.

Yes and it is perfectly normal, I've had 4 ops there and get a little bleeding each time for a few weeks, then it settles. Xx

Obviously if the pain and blood increases, you know what to do! If nothing else phases you, trust your instincts. My husband and I play 'tip-ninja', where he is only allowed the tip in and out, it's actually pretty funny. 😂💜 Happy healing. X

I hope you are recovering well, otherwise. This bleeding from the vaginal cuff after surgery/sex is from

the suture site associated with excess healing tissue (granulation tissue).

Its very common. The dr can apply a small amount of silver nitrate during an exam and it quickly remedies the problem. I was at 8 weeks when i had this done. No problems since.
