Can lap bring on period?!

Morning,

7 days post lap and what’s feeling like genuine period pain has just woken me up (4:33am) bleeding heavily, who doesn’t like an early morning bed change 😑

I spotted darker reddy blood for first 5/6 days since yesterday, getting heavier and fresher. I have the Mirena and pill on top.. is there any chance I am actually having a period?! I haven’t had a period since April when I started the pill.

Can anyone shed any light or advice please? Much appreciated as always xx

When I had a lap, I had the coil inserted too and I bled for ages after, like a period. I was told it was caused by the lap and coil and it will pass eventually. I think it’s just our bodies recovering and getting used to it all.

Thanks for replying, I am currently back in hospital as a precaution 😑 heavy bleeding and pain coming in waves. My coil was fitted September last year so it’s not been an issue, have a scan in the morning that will hopefully shed some light 😊 xx
