early period post lap?

Hi All!

I had my third lap for endo at the weekend and this time they used excision (yay!).

My period isn’t due until around 25th Nov and I am like clockwork usually. The incisions pain has started to die down but today I have something like endo / period pain on acid, it’s so intense but I am not due yet so I didn’t expect this until later this month when I have my period as I do know that the first one is bad.

Can a lap and the endo surgery cause an earlier period or is this post lap / recovery pain? It’s so bad!

I think it’s probably post lap recovery pain. Had my second lap 2 weeks ago with excision. Thought I was as good as new until yesterday. It feels like a healing pain and I need a lot of sleep.

The GP reminded me that, although keyhole my body has been through a lot!! So going with that and resting like a Boss (it’s hard, I used to fighting).

The other two laps were ablation and I’m sure I was back to normal around a week later but this was 9 and 7 years ago and I am no longer a 25 year old!

they removed adhesions and Surgeon thought me organs might be fused together. 3 months to post op appointment. Mirena has gone missing and so waiting for an internal scan 🙄

oh god both not ideal! Really hope they find the mirena, mine went missing a few months ago and then put me under to take it out!

Has your swelling gone down yet on your tummy? Mine is so swollen still, I look like I’ve had a baby! Again something I don’t remember from last time 😅

the swelling is going down and I have had an upset stomach since my op and so the I’m getting smaller. Just look pregnant anyway…so it’s just all a mess to be honest.

Surgeon said she looked for it during to lap and couldn’t find it!! So got to have an internal ultrasound 🙄

oh god I really hope they find it and it gets sorted, it’s the last thing you need when you’re already recovering x

The wait is over and it was the start of the mother of all periods, next time I’ll take northisterone for a while to put it off as it’s horrendous and so painful! Especially bad when I need to go to the toilet. How are you doing? X

had a trip to A&E at the weekend. Got an infection, so antibiotics and strong pain meds. Had an upset stomach 💩 for 2 weeks post lap. Basically I’m a foul mood and so angry, and upset!

I’m almost 2 weeks post lap and tummy is still puffy and sore. really struggling with what to wear, tried jeans the other day and they dog in too much. Had a bleed in recovery due to coughing so they kept me in the bruising is so bad all below the incision in the belly button. Can’t believe the mirena has gone missing thats so odd.

I’m the same, leggings only really and even they hurt because they sort of sit in the middle of my tummy. What a joy!

I hope we all have less swollen tummies too and can dress normally, I don’t remember it being this bad last time.

aww your recovery ❤️‍🩹 hope you heal soon and the tummy goes down. I got some Lucy and Yak trousers with elasticated waist for now. It’s weird as we are all so different x x x
