Hi all 11 days ago I had emergency surgery to remove a ruptured endometrioma cyst as well as the ovary and Fallopian tube it had engulfed. They also got rid of endo adhesions. They said it was stage 3. I take birth control continuously to prevent getting my period as per my gyn's orders. This week I started with brown spotting and now have full bleeding and clots or tissue mixed in. Sorry SO much TMI. It seems like a heavy peroid but since I'm on the birth control pill with no breaks it shouldn't be my peroid. Has anyone had this type of bleeding the second week of recovery? I have a call to my doctor but haven't heard back and I'm curious about everyone's experiences. I do have relief finally from the endometrioma cyst pain!
Thank you

I remember I had my tubes and endo out in 2016 and I had the same so I think it is normal but I just get checked out to be sure, sounds horrendous with that cyst, I now have a chocolate cyst also on my left ovary and I am worried it will rupture but I. Have an appointment with gyno on 5th of October to plan surgery to get it removed, did you know you had the cyst? How big was it? Did they tell you lol sorry for all the questions 😂 mines 4.5cm but it causes me a lot of pain even when I am not on my period I get sharp pains and pins and needles down my leg! Can’t wait for it to be out!! Hope you feel better xx
Hi there, thanks so much for your reply. As much as it sucks knowing someone else is going through endo it's nice to hear someone can relate. My endometrioma was 10cms before it ruptured. I had pain all the time too. The surgeon told me it's very rare for an endometrioma to actually rupture. Recovering is longer than I thought but I don't have the constant pain of it anymore.
Yes please that would be most helpful, did you have day surgery or did they keep you in? I am not sure of the waiting times for surgery yet at my hospital but I think it’s around 18weeks seems a long time I’m hoping I’ll get in quick and I’ll also opt for anyone cancelling surgery, when I had my op in 2016 I was on holiday in Lanzarote and th hospital called me and said they could get me in the following week so I was delighted I didn’t have to wait long, but that was in Watford so bedford might be different xx
I had peritonitis as well from the ruptured cyst and had a horrible time with the gas they fill you up with! The gas pains in my chest and shoulder was the worst part of it all, I also had night sweats and migraines the first week. Everyday I feel better I just have this bleeding now 🤦🏽♀️
Hi I have a 11cm chocolate cyst in my ovary, I've been up all night I can't sleep, I feel pressure on my side and I can't sit up straight or lay on that side or my stomach I'm really scared it's going to rupture, do you think it would be worth going to A&E today to push for something to be done? I found out about the chocolate cyst mid August and my gyno appointment is not until mid November, november seems so far away I'm scared it's going to keep growing, I really don't want to lose my ovary. I really don't know what to do
Hi aw I know that pain so well. If you have a lot of pain it might be leaking. The longer you wait the more likely it will take over your ovary. I had mine from April until 13 days ago when I had to have emergency surgery. If you go to A&E and tell them you're in agony they might remove it sooner. Mine was awful pain. Lost my one ovary and Fallopian tube and am still having pain on that side after surgery (was literally at A&E tonight and have to get ultrasound tomorrow to see why I have post op pain and bleeding. It's been an ordeal but I'm glad the chocolate cyst is gone. Are you in pain all the time?
