So I was suppose to have surgery for my ovarian cyst I have now had since August 2019 when it got to the day of the surgery the doctors advised me since I haven't had any children yet it's not a good idea and could be really risky they gave me the alternative option of taking birth control pills to stop my periods for 3 months and avoid other cyst from forming. The birth control is not working for me and my periods are painful as ever. I also recently found out my cyst has grown from 4.6cm to 5.7cm. Honestly I dont know what to do from here I'm really disheartened confused and lost anyone please help and advice

When I first started feeling unwell I went for a private scan and she mentioned that I had endometriosis but I have not heard anything from doctors after saying that I do. I thought it was unusual that they cancelled my laparoscopy on the day as well but I was scared and just did what they asked me to do. Now my cyst has grown bigger and I'm not sure what to do anymore
Did your doctors get the results of the scan, do they know that a scan indicated endometriosis? Was it an ultra-sound scan of MRI scan? How long ago was it?
Ultrasounds sometimes show endo, but often miss it, it depends how it is structured. MRIs are much better. So if the scan either wasn't an MRI or was some time ago, then you need to push to have another to see how much of a problem the endo is.
If your GP or gynae doesn't realise that you have endo and is giving you a oestrogen based pill then that would make it worse.
If it’s an endometrioma cyst then the endiometrosis eats away your healthy eggs and waiting is not advisable if it’s reached +5cm, I highly recommend finding a good excission surgeon.
Hi Notebo, how annoying for you to gear yourself up for the op and the. Be told it’s cancelled. I had an ovarian cyst (endometrioma) 5cm and on my Fallopian tube. I had the op when I was 25 and I had no kids at that point so unless the “rules”have changed. I am currently going for IVF as they have now found further cysts etc but they have now advised me against the op as my egg reverse it’s low and the op could bring this lower so I will be put in the menopause as apparently this shrinks them. When I had them removed it was because my periods were so painful. Do your cysts cause you pain?
I would definitely go back to the doctors and ask to be referred back to the specialist or see what else they can do. It’s so bad that they cancelled the op but then the alternative has not even worked and it’s been 5 months since. Sorry I know I haven’t been much help but I would definitely put some pressure on the dr as it’s affecting your life and that’s not right. I hope you get sorted soon and keep us updated xx
Thats terrible! I have endo and had a cyst in november, it wasnt to do with the endo and was just an ovarian cyst. Id never had one before, i was in constant pain and vomiting and mine was only 2.3 cm! Drs were crap, i only started to feel better after drinking apple cider vinegar with warm water 3 times a day. I also took wild yam capsules and clarey sage oil, geranium and frankensence on my tummy. I found lots of info on this online because all the drs would do was give me codeine which makes me sick. It could be coincidence but i felt better a couple of days later and the pain started to ease off. When i got scanned last week it had totally gone.
Omg that's amazing to get your testimony because indeed the codeine they give me does make me feel sick I'm gonna start trying all these methods are keep you posted thank you so much again x
Your welcome, i really hope it gives you the relief it gave me. I found quite a few blogs etc about it, and apple cider vinegar is amazing for lots of things. The pain is horrendous and the nausea, and on top of all that they go and give us codeine! 🤢x
No i didnt get pulsing sensations. I think it was gone around a week after but i didnt have a scan to confirm it untill january but i felt better so it must have gone.
Yes i massaged them into my tummy 2 to 3 times a day, and i also put some on my pulse points aswel. People kept saying how nice i smelled! I dont know if the wild yam made a difference but im still taking that, and i also took turmeric capsules, but i think the things that helped the most were the vinegar and the oils. With the vinegar if you take too much in one go it can agrevate, so just one tablespoon mixed with warm water in a small glass is more than enough and you will hopefully feel some relief quite quickly. I dont know if the same applies for an endometriomal cyst but its not going to do any harm to try.
