Help! Bleeding post op(TMI?)

Hi all!

I’m nearly 5 weeks post op and I still have vaginal bleeding. I don’t know if it’s a period etc as my periods are never on time etc. My last period started 29.04 and my lap was on 30.04. I may also note I had the jaydess put in during the lap but I also have the nexplanon implant.. should I still be bleeding 5 weeks post op. I wouldn’t say it’s spotting,it’s enough to have to change my sanitary pad every 3ish hours. Some days are worse,I bled through yesterday.

Any advice on this? My GP is next to useless. They won’t do anything without my specialists consent however I’m still waiting to hear from my specialist regarding what he even did😂

i would give your consultants secretary a call asap as you shouldnt really be bleeding for that long.

sorry rach i was at work. unfortunately its been a learning curve for me too. i always take a photo of the discharge note they ask me to hand in at my gp so ive got a copy of something. u could ring 111 alternatively let us know your drs name and i dont mind searching for u. other than that u could ring the surgical ward u were on

Hello, hope you’ve had a good day. My discharge notes said “ diagnostic laparoscopy,resection of endometriosis,insertstion of jaydess and cystoscopey” “co-codamol and after care given” and it was signed off! That is literally all that was on the sheet:(!! I’m going to try and call the ward tomorrow and demand a number. I feel so anxious not knowing exactly what was done,weird knowing I may have even lost a ovary etc and I wouldn’t kbow. The plan was to remove appendix too but once again he never spoke to me post op so I don’t know what was done follow up isn’t until October! Xx

it could be the jaydess causing some bleeding as im led to believe it can take a few monyhs to settle down but i would want confirmation from them that its normal and nothing else is going on. your gp should also be able to chase up notes.

Hi, if you search online you can pretty much find the numbers for secretary’s there. That’s how I found mine out 😊 good luck!

I’ve searched the internet for the last 2 hours I can not find anything it’s getting silly now! I rang one number I found and it didn’t even go through to voicemail it just rang for 5 minuets straight then cut off. I rang my GP to see if they have received my post op notes regarding the findings etc and they still haven’t.. I’m nearly 5 weeks post op I’m getting concerned over the lack of care and communication this consultant has given me ☹️ I’m only 19 and I’ve been left with nothing to reassure me from the nhs

So sorry you’re going through this. Do you mind me asking which hospital it was? Was this done with a general gynaecologist or a specialist? If you feel really bad you could go back to the hospital you had it done in to their a&e and they will be able to access your post op notes electronically!

Hello, kiddiminster in Worcestershire. He is a specialist. I went to a and e a few days ago due to pain and they had nothing on system so we had to try and put the pieces together from memory x
