I have consented to my surgery adhesiolysis and excision removal of endometriosis
They asked me if I wanted the Mirena and I said yes but after researching it I don’t want it because it has the same hormone in it as microgynon and that didn’t agree with me.
Can I still have my excision surgery if I don’t consent to having the Mirena inserted at the same time?

If you do not consent to having the Mirena then they are not legally allowed to insert it. Just make sure you tell them before you head into surgery. This should not affect them excising your endometriosis. You may just need a different treatment plan after.
I was the same as you. I had my surgery in October and decided that week that I no longer wanted the Mirena fitted.
I phoned up the hospital and was told that I just had to inform them on the day of surgery. When the consultant was going over my surgery I then told them I no longer wanted it and that was fine. She did try and talk me into having it but I was adamnet.
At the moment I’m just persevering with it. My GP put me on Cilest but I’ve since found out that makes endo worse so I’ve came off it and going to reschedule another appointment. Im due just now and this will be my third period since the lap, the past two have been horrendous so I’m dreading this. How are you managing yours? Xx
Not sure they have recommended the coil but I’m not sure whether to have it so now I am looking for another way to manage it
Apparently the coil is made of silicone and that isn’t good for your body in the long term.....
I’ve read horror stories of it falling out or perforating the womb
It’s also got the same hormone is as microgynon and I don’t think that pill agrees with me and I don’t know if that is due to the oestrogen component or the levongestrel that is the same hormone that is in the Mirena
