Pain 3 months post laparoscopy

Hi, it’s been 3 months since my laparoscopy. I had endometriosis removed from both ovaries & left pod. I am still having pain throughout my cycles, ovulation, periods, normal days - particularly on my left side. Anyone else experience this? Can it take longer than 12 weeks to heal? I’m so tired of it all! I’m in touch with my GP & they are referring me back to gynae. I felt great 5 weeks after surgery & since then I have felt on/off rubbish 😔 Keep getting back ache along with the pain & aching in thigh. I’ve been checked for infections, etc!

I’m exactly the same, had my lap done in December with coil inserted they said they removed mild endometriosis from my pouch of Douglas and that if I still get lower back pain it’s must be something else causing it😔 I’m so fed up. I’m in absolutely agony and ovulation is so bad that it’s gets me so bad even when to an and e because I though it must be kidney stones if not endometriosis. But had ct scan and found cyst on ovary.

Ovulation is painful for me too & the last period was terrible! I have a 2cm cyst since surgery on left ovary, but they don’t think that would be causing issues. How big is your cyst? Sorry to hear you’re going through similar situation. It’s horrible being in pain 😔

Hi, sorry to hear that you are suffering. Your story sounds similar to mine although I was officially diagnosed at 40 after appendectomy. I also had no help from the coil!! It is possible to stay on the prostap injections for a longer period. I was on and off for 2.5 years. But there are risks so you need to be aware of them. I was also able to have injections while I awaited the hysterectomy. Perhaps you can ask for that option? I also wanted to add that for me, the hysterectomy has been the best thing I did. I wish I had done it sooner. Best of luck x

Thanks for you message 😊 I really want to try to have a baby so I don’t think I can do prostap injections can I?

I’m in the same position, lap done end of Jan. I phoned the gynae outpatients direct ( knowing referrals can take so long & with cancellations happening so often) & managed to get an appt for this coming week ( quicker than an appt at the GP)

GP prescribed dhydrocodine in the meantime.

The pain is in the lower back, left side & down into the thigh. Endo removed / treated on left side.

It’s so frustrating isn’t it. I hope you get some answers! Your pain sounds the same as mine. How long have you had it for? Mine started about 10 days ago, but I had my lap in feb. They have also referred me back to gynae, not I’m guessing it will take a while!

Fingers crossed your referral comes through quickly.

The back pain started to creep back about 4-6 weeks ago, but the left sided pain & down the thigh has become quite intense over the past 3-4 weeks.

It doesn’t seem to matter what you do, heat, pain killers, tens, exercise etc. it’s still there, but hopefully they can sort it out.

Thanks so much. It sounds similar to mine. It definitely feels more intense the last few days. I’m due to ovulate as well so will probably get worse 😔 I’ve been wearing my tens machine constantly! I hope you get some answers too! I can’t wait to feel better!
