Dark bloody water and calprotectin of 1,120

Hi there

Had colitis 26 years now and had a recent colonoscopy which showed mild Inflammation

This month the mucus worsened and I started noticing specks of blood in the mucus so contacted IBD team to do a calprotectin test plus start enemas and suppositories

The first 3 days were fine and mucus had gone down as had blood. Last night however I struggled with the enema and it hurt administering it. (Unsure if I grazed myself internally). Anyway all night I kept being woken up with a very lively stomach. Stupidly loud and gurgly but also lots of moving and wind.

I resisted the urge although found it odd as this hadnt happened any other nights. I passed liquid this morning which I assumed was some remaining enema but the water was so dark and bloody. Could it be possibly I injured myself putting it in and the blood sat there for 10 hours so darkened?

I wondered if something else could be happening further up but IBD team said a calprotectin of 1,120 suggests UC activity?

I’ve been twice since this incident and it looks normal again
