Sigmoidoscopy?

My recent calprotectin test was normal showing my treatment for U.C is working. Several before had been high. I've been put in for a Sigmoidoscopy test soon , last one was 4 years ago. Do I still need to have it?. I really don't want to so would appreciate your thoughts.

IBD advice needed, beginning to feel desperate!

I feel like I’ve been passed from pillar to post, last week I only just discovered that my original calprotectin test was lost and no results were ever recorded, a complete error on there part and now I need to take a stool sample in for the test to be done.

Has anyone used the Calprotectin Home Test kits to self monitor their Calprotectin levels? I would like to hear your views and experiences as I am thinking of using one in self-monitoring my Crohn’s disease.

Desperate need for advice, I am having to pull out of university because of persistent GI problems!

IBD has been ruled out from a recent fecal calprotectin test, a lot fo evidence points towards IBS. Would pulling out of university to get myself into remission be wise? (I cannot think of any other options). My future is looking very uncertain, with my flares popping up frequently and severely.

Very high calprotectin in 13 year old daughter

As the bleeding has continued and the GP cannot see anything visible at her bottom they did a calprotectin test. This came back at 1800+ as the labs couldnt test any higher. We have just had an endoscopy and colonoscopy yesterday which was very distressing for her.

Tests

After at least 25 years and visits to my Gp I finally mange to convince my doctor to give me a FIT test and feacal calprotectin test along with 13 blood tests. I couldn’t go on with the being told it’s probably ibs and not ruling everything else out.

Colitis, Terminal iletis or Crohns?

My GP ordered a calprotectin test in September which came back at 222 and I had a repeat one in December which came back at 430. My GP wrote to my local Gastroenterology department at the hospital for advice. The consultant mentioned that it could be Bile Acid Malabsorption or bowel disease.

Does IBD cause a swollen stomach, where you look about 6 months pregnant!?

Do you think I should push further with IBD, I guess it all depends on my next Calprotectin test, too? Any help would be much appreciated. All the best, L :)

IBD UC with latent TB

last option now on biologics for UC treatments after salofak & Azathioprine failed. Amjevita also failed. Now doc recommends Entyvio infusion without treating my latent TB a risk which both myself n doc discussed b4. Their findings said less than 1% active TB tru infusion method.. did anyone had Entyvio

Hello, not one to usually do a forum post but really would like to hear other people journeys similar to mine. For months now I have really been suffering with horrendous pains in my stomach, gripping and twisting inside and back pain. With flare ups with diarrhoea, even waking in the night. I bloat

Crohn’s Diagnosis ?

I was wondering if anyone who has been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease could help me. I developed a fistula in July’s of 2021. I have no family history of IBD disease. When I realized most people who get fistulas also have IBD I started having severe stomach pain 24-7 I couldn’t eat for months. I did

Concerned dad!

My 12 year old daughter is iron deficient, lost alot of weight, constant fatigue and has returned a calprotectin level of 5320! She is to have a colonoscopy in the coming weeks, feeling scared of the outcome and very stressed! Does anyone have a similar story?

Getting a diagnosis

Hi I have elevated calprotectin and flexible sigmoidoscopy showed mild inflamation. At the time of the procedure I hadn't had any of my usual symptoms for a few months (bloody poo and mucus, very frequent trips to loo). This was back in October. Symptoms have now started again and GP is referring me

Help!

Hellooo! For almost ten years I have experienced upper right quadrant stomach pain and heart burn but after investigations the Dr always put it down to a fatty liver. This all started when I was pregnant with my first child when I was 18 where I did suffer from severe constipation also, my second pregnancy
