Calprotectin test

Hi I’m waiting on a colonoscopy as I had a high Calprotectin test result recently I’ve just sent away the Qfit tests but unsure of those results yet.

I have ileitis confirmed from a colonoscopy and am waiting for a calprotectin test to confirm if inflammation is root cause. I have seen that ileitis can cause B12 absorption issues.

Hi there I’ve been having weird bowel symptoms for awhile now and Gp did a calprotectin stool test which showed a high result. She’s referred me to Gastro urgently however it’s a long wait even for urgent in Edinburgh where I am in the UK.

Been told its a 14 month wait to see the gastroenterologist and doctors have done basic tests which came back negative except the calprotectin test which was raised. I have asked to try cholestyramine. Many thanks

Hi...sorry I'm hoping someone can help me....had my results back & although not overly high I've read that in the UK doctors use the York Care Pathway to interpret faecal calprotectin test results for IBD... 100-250 ug/g- intermediate result & the test should be repeated in two weeks.

Calprotectin test back again after last check in February which was 1800 after having alot of blood loss and diarrhea flare-up yet it is still 1800.Gastro appointment on 1st of July booked to discuss but feel very down by this number as I have been eating nothing but oats, almond milk, fish and rice

Saw GP last week and stool results came back with very raised Calprotectin (inflammation) and Blood in stools (FIT test). I’ve now been referred on the urgent 2-week ?cancer pathway, could also be IBD with results so now waiting on an urgent colonoscopy. Could this be bowel endo?

Few months ago I had three tooth infections and went on amoxicillin antibiotics three times during this my calprotectin levels came down from 1800 to 610 and 395 which I thought was great 👍 Only now recent test last week they have gone straight back up to 1800 I'm not sure if the antibiotics helped

Several times, doctors have queried doing a colonoscopy but my calprotectin levels are not sufficiently raised.

So I had raised faecal calprotectin 2nd result 309 so private gastroenterologist set up for me to have a pill cam. Only thing is, got it Wednesday 10am & by lunchtime the recorder had broken! So they got 3 hours filmed.

constant stomach pain mostly on a morning before a bm and afterwards all over upper right stomach pain in ribs and right hip , I do get constipation but then can go everyday but I have noticed my stomache gurgling on a lot mostly after I eat always sound angry 😠 I have had stoole samples tested for calprotectin

Had a stool test done and the calprotectin levels were 500+ I had my colonoscopy today and was so sure they’d say that I had very obvious inflammation and had crohns or colitis, but they found nothing. Doctor even went back to an area where I was feeling quite a lot of pain when doing the test.

At the end I was keep going back to the GP so they did blood and stool tests in November 2024 that came back with high calprotectin and other inflammatory levels were high too in the blood hence referred me to gastroenterologist who I've seen yesterday.

On a test called “calprotectin”, your “score” should be under 50. Mine was 1460, meaning there was a very high level of inflammation in my intestines. Fast forward to today. I was telling my rheumatologist about everything that has been going on and she says it’s time to change things up.

Is there any evidence known for faecal calprotectin ( FCP) levels to suggest endo ?

Hi...just had more blood tests done & stool test, the stool test was for faecal calprotectin & was 156, not hugely over the 100, I've just had scheduled telephone consultation with Dr & he says to test again in 6 weeks, does that sound right?

He did a load of tests, and the stool calprotectin test came back raised at 99ug. He then asked me to do a second test which came back at 197ug. He has referred me to a gastroenterologist. This has made me really nervous as to what is going to happen next. Does anyone know?

My GP has done some tests, my calprotectin came back a bit high and has referred me to gastro. They said it could be inflammatory bowel disease. Any advice for me for when I see the gastro team? I'm worried it could be endo but not sure.

if anyone else has had such a big drop in calprotectin without medication.
