Would you run feeling this terrible?

OK, so this week is supposed to be the big one - WK9, and I was supposed to start it Sunday or Monday. But on top of a nasty stomach bug I've now got a whopper of a cold. Apart from the cold, I dont feel too bad now but am taking some meds.Got a bit of a chesty cough and storming headache but Im feeling guilty for not going out. Or am I making excuses? Your wisdom please?....cheers - Karen

    You don't lose fitness that fast. Excellent work on getting so far and now feeling guilty about missing one but sometimes you need a rest up.

  • I'd very much agree with Greg - if you went out now, it'd be really tough, and would probably make you feel worse, and take longer to recover. Hope you feel much better very soon - and enjoy that week 9! :)

  • So nice to hear from you Greenlegs. Never thought I would ever end up feeling guilty from lack of exercise. A bit of arm twisting off the hubby later might make me succumb but I'll try my best to convince him. Makes me think I should be doing some other form of exercise on my days off to ease the conscience :-))

  • I had this a few weeks ago. I missed 2 runs and when (almost) better repeated my last pre cold run to make sure I was okay to go. If you have reached week 9 then I am sure you will be okay to miss a run or 2 then come back. Well done on getting this far. I am due to graduate tomorrow and hope you can join me shortly!
