Week 7 Run 1, Calf pain sorted, I think.

After taking advice on my last blog and a few days rest, I managed to do this run 6.30am today. Having previously had a pain in one calf, I thought I might never run again (hypochondria comes to mind). Rested the leg for a few days, rubbed deep heat into it (don't know if that helped but it felt good anyway), drank Tonic Water(slim-line) quinine in it, (supposed to be good for muscle cramps), put some special insoles into my trainers which stabilized my feet (try these first before I change my trainers) and hey presto up and running, such a science this running lark. Can't wait till my next run.

Hi, Are you also not running in the UK? We should make a group of non-UK runners!

No sorry to disappoint you I am in the UK, just loved New York when we travelled hence used this as my user name. Now that I'm running it would be lovely to run round Central Park, maybe one day. Will use this thought on my next run. Ran Wk 7 Run 3 today week 8 is beckoning.

Ha! Of course one should not believe the names are literal! I'm at exactly the same point - week 8 run 1 this evening I hope.
