Due to a run of hideously bad luck I had to have a break of 3 days after completing week 6 and it was awful - I spent the whole time wanting to go for a run! (bad luck including, but not limited to, locking myself and my 2 young daughters out of the house for 2 days while my husband was away overnight with work, losing my phone and running out of petrol.)
Today I had an hour between doing the shopping and taking the kids to a party so I put on my running gear and off I went, it was great, I found my stride easily and felt the minutes fly by, Laura gave me the half-way mark then the heavens opened, I haven't been out in rain as heavy as that since I was a kid stamping around in wellies. It was brilliant! the rain was bouncing off the pavement, I was soaked to the skin with squelching trainers but the rain totally took my mind off what I was doing and before I knew it I had 60 seconds left! A helpful onlooker at a bus stop awarded me first prize for the wet t-shirt contest and I awarded myself a big pat on the back. 25 minutes run without feeling particularly out of breath, without muscles aching and without wondering how long was left. I can do this!
Then I came on here and read a whole bunch of posts from people saying how great their week 7 run had been, maybe it was a good day for running, maybe we've all hit a sweet spot in the training but whatever it is, I love it.

Sounds like a brilliant run - well done you! It seems like you got into "the zone" - sometimes when that happens I feel I can keep running for ever. Well obviously not really for ever, but I think you now know what I mean. Usually having a slightly longer break between runs doesn't do any harm at all, as you've now found out
(A personal question - but did your run of minor disasters relate in any way to just before your time of the month? I know I can get a bit ditsy for a few days and I've got friends who almost always get lost if they try to go somewhere slightly unfamiliar.)
fortunately no, imagine if I had days like that every month! bizarrely I get super-sensitive to smells for a few days before my period and can't eat meat because it all smells bad!
Sounds like a fabulous run, well done! I'm pretty sure I remember one of my week 7 runs being very similar and being on top of the world because I, too, suddenly realised that I WAS going to be able to do this enjoy the rest of the programme and let's see that graduation badge
Well done. running sorts a lot of woes. It is so good for quietening a buzzing brain I've found. Locking yourselves out of the house for two days is quite something! Hope you had accommodating friends !
I had a very lovely 2 days with my in-laws, they wouldn't let me help with any of the housework and entertained my 3-yr old so it was basically a mini-holiday... they might get suspicious if I do it too often though
