Week 3 run 1

Woke up motivated to get running - didn’t fancy the usual road run so headed off to Nescliffe hill.

Thoroughly enjoyed the location, much more scenic, but left wanting more.

Today’s run pushed that little bit more which was a good challenge, but it seemed to be over before it even started. I seem to have covered less distance today 🤷🏻‍♀️ dunno what happened there! Can’t wait for my next run, although it’ll be an after work run in the dark, so fingers crossed the motivation stays!!

Yesterday I wen to my local running shop to get some advice on trainers - it turns out my new trainers are fine for my feet/gait type, I just didn’t realise trail shoes aren’t best for road running because of shock absorption! Who knew 🤦🏻‍♀️ so my new trainers were perfect running round the hill this morning, no shin pain - super pleased I haven’t wasted money.

Will look to purchase a squidgier pair suited to road running next pay day 😬 the pair I tried on yesterday were Asics gt 1000 9 - they seemed comfy walking around and fitted well... anyone know the difference between the Asics with the different numbers on the end eg. Gt 1000 8, gt 1000 7... curious as they look similar and are cheaper???

Thanks 😊

Beautiful photo. Take it slowly, the programme will soon catch up with you.

My new year resolution is a decent pair of running shoes, it's a big outlay and I had to be sure I was going to carry on.

It is a rule that when you buy new shoes, you have to post a picture. We all love a bit of shoe porn.

Thanks... you’re right the programme will definitely catch up lol, Dunno how I’ll manage the longer runs!

Yep great New Years plan, I dunno whether it’s just me, but exciting getting new shoes :) hope you find the perfect pair!

Picture to follow... 🤣

Well done, Looks like a lovely location to run in.

With regard to the shoe numbers, I think the lower number are the older version, and should be cheaper even though there’s probably not significant differences.

Thanks Wenderwoo, it is such a beautiful location, definitely brings peace and tranquility 🥰

Ok, that makes sense and makes my decision much easier! Defo don’t need the latest “model”! 😬 thank you!
